It's the Supersound

The momentum of the internet airwaves are sweeping through Santa Monica this week! Thursday night, iHeartRadio‘s top dance station Electric Sound Stage takes over VERSUS with DJ sets by the massively supported DJ MAKJ, along with Technique management resident and ex-Peacetreaty member Sam Hiller. Supporting will also be San Diego based Animal Riot and Redbull repped Ryan Lassi. The kicker – Electric Sound Stage will be recording each of the DJ sets LIVE for their online show and broadcasting around the world! This one is sure to be a high energy night, so come early and ready to get dirty!

The nice folk over at Scion A/V thought it’d be a good idea for us to premier a recent video interview they did with one of the dance world’s fastest risers, Dillon Francis.

He’s been conquering the club scene and festival stages and probably getting laid a whole lot more now thanks to his new twist bass-style music – we may as well go out here and say it is moombahton.

In it he chats about his first two CDs (one is Elvis Presley), pointing the finger at Rusko for kicking off his love of dance music and getting Stretch Armstrong to listen to his first track.

I jumped on the Miike Snow bandwagon quite late in the game.  It was only after copious amounts of Facebook creeping that I realized what I had been missing.  However, I’m happy to announce that after three years these Swedish babes are still my favorite “Socialists”.

They’re the perfect blend of emoish pop-rock and danceable indie, or in other words, a one stop shop.  After an intense make-out session at your parents place, you won’t have to change the song for a post petting spooning session. They simply have a little something for everybody in any situation.

If you haven’t heard already, Miike Snow is gearing up to release they’re sophomore LP, “Happy to You”, on March 27.  And because the World Wide Web is such a fabulous place, a few tracks have already sprung up.  My personal favorite has to be “Paddling Out”, with “Black Tin Box” coming in a close second.  While the latter showcases a much darker interpretation of the trio’s sound,  the combination of Lykke Li and Miike Snow is a musical version of Prozac. I just can’t get enough. Check out all the tracks below.
