Back in the day when I was just starting out blogging, I was mad for the then more underground French house scene. Well, what might have been mainstreaming in France was more underground here, we’re like 2 years behind. I haven’t really listened to Kavinsky or SebastiAn for a while now, but I’m happy to have a post of a bunch of them now. Nightcall was actually produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo from Daft Punk, mixed by SebastiAn and has guest vocals from Lovefoxxx. That’s a pretty crazy list right there. Totally digging Nightcall, I like that the track doesn’t have to depend on being fast. And back to what I’m more used to from Kavinsky, Pacific Coast Highway with the retro sounding electro. And I also included a downloadable MMMatthias remix of the track.

These guys are so f-ing good… makes me sick…   But on the plus side, they are churning smokin’ tracks out left and right, which makes my ears happy.    Seriously, since they blew onto the scene with their Kid Cudi remix, which did wonders for both Crooker and Kid they have been unstoppable.   This track is taken off of Crookers first full length titled, “Tons of Friends” which was released March 8th.

Well, this is pretty straight forward: Markus and I had the idea of putting out mini mixes every month that would feature a special guest. Said special guest would play whatever they wanted, we would play whatever we wanted and all would be swell in the land of Hot Biscuits. That’s the whole story and this is the final product; Hot Biscuits Mini Mix Series!

For this first month, we’ve decided to call upon a former contributor and current CEO of Squeegie Sounds; Brookah. If you frequent his blog then you already know that he’s pretty much “all about” the hard sound. However, his installment of this month’s mini mix series might surprise you. All I’ll say is that he’s a bastard for using “Calypso.”

Lastly, I just wanted to point out that this is meant to be a fun thing, so if you hear a beat mismatch or levels that are off (WHICH YOU WON’T), I’d recommend to simply let it go. If you absolutely hate what you’re hearing then shoot us an email and let us know who you’d like to hear instead. In the coming months we’ve got some wonderful talent lined up and that’s all I’m going to say about that.

After extensively touring Europe last, the band also announced their first U.S. date, a first-night performance at Coachella on April 17, as well as a three-night stand at San Francisco’s Warfield April 12-14.

So far, no other East Coast dates have been revealed, but it’s unlikely many U.S. dates will follow the July 5 show as FNM will set off for Lisbon and other European cities beginning July 8. Tickets for the Brooklyn show, which will benefit the Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn, go on sale March 19, with a special fan presale taking place March 16. Check back at their official site next week for purchasing links.
