FUKKK OFF + ZODIAC CARTEL + BODY LANGUAGE

03 22 2011

FUKKK OFF is back with what we think is one of the most buzz-worthy remix packages to hit shelves in a hot minute. Out on COCO MACHETE RECORDS, Brooklyn’s indie disco darlings BODY LANGUAGE tweaks out an acid-tinged late night stomp that works as well in warehouses as it does in the danceclubs downtown.

Fukkk Offf – Brain Rock – Body Language Remix by Low Life Inc

Let’s be honest here, as soon as I heard the original last fall I thought the tune should be remixed by ZODIAC CARTEL. This remix is like a dream come true. General Zod commands the heavyweight manifesto into a tech-funk flurry.

ZODIAC CARTEL

03 03 2011

General Zod, better known as ZODIAC CARTEL is at it again, although I think his alter ego may have had some re:vamp influence. Check out the re:vamped link if you don’t know what I’m referring to.

The tune takes the shape of one of Fake Blood’s massive early hits, and adds some of the best Daft Punk stabs/samples I’ve ever heard. It’s all brought together with the usual gusto from Zodiac Cartel. What else can you expect from a player who’s been producing for well over a decade?

This is what the General has to say about the tune:

Been a while since I touched base with a freebie, for which I apologize and will duly go stand in the corner. This is a mashup I’ve had in my Weapons of Choice box for a while now but am happily setting it free where it will roam feral across the internet badlands & no doubt wind up lining the pockets of a dodgy ‘entrepreneur’ somewhere, charging $0.15c a pop for it to feed their saucy habits of prancing around in second-hand hosiery.

Zodiac Cartel just released a stellar pair of tunes as well. It’s the first single from him in a year so hop on it! Grab them from beatport.

ELITE FORCE VS THE GOSSIP

04 13 2010
I’m telling you, the “Revamped” compilation from ELITE FORCE is hands down, one of the best releases of all time. Do yourself a favour and pick up all 15 tracks for a measly $12.99 (USD) on beatport or grab some deluxe packages from the Elite Force Store that includes some stellar exclusive material. It doesn’t hurt that Elite Force has been around for a long time and is one of the most sincere individuals on the planet. He’s passionate about all of his endeavours. To prove it, here’s what he has to say about the project.
“I decided to embark on a whole new extension of the re-edit idea looking at creating a number of brand new tracks out of components taken from older tunes… proper mash-ups. Some were born out of simple live jams that evolved into finely tuned studio creations, whilst others were ground-up rebuilds where I was effectively writing new pieces of music using samples from other tracks. There was no fixed way of working and no sacred cows that went un-plundered.” [Elite Force]
He’s been kind enough to give away a tonne of freebees, and here’s another, this time he takes on THE GOSSIP. Grab it from the widget below and make sure to check out the links that follow.

Zodiac Echoes

01 18 2010
This is Zodiac Cartel. If you don’t know about him then I’ll give you some info. He’s pretty much one of the most sought out producers in the tech/electro game. Most famous for his remix of Fukkk Offf’s monster anthem, Rave is King. As well as just remixing the likes of Moby! Anyway, he posted this remix of Decoder & Healey on his Soundcloud page about a year ago, but I guess it never got a proper release so he has decided to put it out for free in all of its 320 glory!!!! So here is a great little electro/tech/fidget baby-bomb.

MANALOGUE MIX

08 15 2009

Uh, I finally recorded a mix. It’s been a year since I’ve done one successfully. I tried in December and January with while holding my son but they didn’t go so well.

Funny though, I really wanted to make a mix of summer indie tunes but nothing came together the way I wanted it to. In the end, I ended up recording a wobbly electro something. It’s not perfect and but it’s still pretty fun.
