London based dirty dancers we’ve got some exciting news: After a £1million facelift, Brixton’s legendary venue formerly known as The Fridge is re-opening, this time as Electric Brixton. The club launches on Saturday 24th September, with sets from Felix Da Housecat, DJ Hell, Hannah Holland, JoJo De Freq, Tom Starr, and Keith & Supabeatz. Early birds have already gone on sale and you can grab those here.

Over the coming months Electric Brixton will be hosting a weekly party from the Get Loaded brand, as well as shows from M.A.N.D.Y, Japanese Popstars, Gilles Peterson, Stanton Warriors, and Kissy Sell Out.

Go to the Rize Popshop tonight on Kingsway & 10th and see a rad acoustic set from Tyler Marin, Elliot Way, Renee Theirren, The Farmhounds and D.B. Buxton. $3 beers, no cover.  Goes from 6 – 11 pm.

Also, everyone’s favourite girl crush (Maddie Follin from The Cults), is playing tonight @ Venue  with Guards and Writer (which sounds sort of awesome as I’m browsing their myspace…).

Wuz surprised at the number of ppl that knew the words to all the songs, considering they barely have anything out. One bro even had his own t-shirt he made for the show. I got all excited that there was mebbe sum sweet merch so I could rep the zef 24/7.
