Love Is The Drug – Roxy Music (Todd Terje Disco Dub)
01 15 2012

Love Is The Drug by Roxy Music has possibly one of the best bass lines in a song ever. It’s awesome. It the kind of bass line that makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning and take on the world. Something like that anyway…
Todd Terje seems to have been putting out a lot of new stuff recently, and this remix is definitely one of the best of the tracks floating around at the moment. Subtly remixed, still keeping that classic Brian Ferry chorus vocal in there, this is a stunning piece of disco dynamite. Psychedelic drum solos top it off. It looks to be a vinyl only release, and you can pre-order it here.
Skatt Brothers – Walk the Night
07 18 2011
Well hello there. Busy lil bee-ston lately here in the land of the Sheena. But in we pop to let you know that the main man, Todd Terje, threw down a wicked outdoor set at the Gowanus Grove (c'mon, it's really still The Yard, right?) for the Mister Sunday party. He played a crazy, and expectedly, rad set which included the below song that I have not been able to get out of my head for, oh... going on 12+ hours now.
Not a bad problem to have.

Todd Terje + Only Children

Chicago, if you’re out and still kicking after the Pitchfork Festival tonight, I highly recommend you stop by SmartBar for a spectacle in House music by Todd Terje and Only Children. In fact, if you’re coming from the festival and save your wristband, you can get in with reduced cover before midnight, so why not. Also, if you haven’t already, pick up Only Children’s debut EP, Don’t Stop, digitally or on vinyl at Gramophone Records. Support the arts, people.
Friday, July 15th @ SmartBar:

Each show keeps getting better. I feel like big things coming…
Here’s the premiere of Resorts EP01.

Pat Jordache is coming all the way over from Montreal. His latest album has just been rereleased. The original version was one of the best Canadian albums of last year and in Winnie’s own words, they might be one of Canada’s best kept secrets.
Pat Jordache – Get It (I Know You’re Going To)
Slam Dunk is Western Canada’s best kept secret and their album THE SHIVERS is one of the best Canadian records from last year. They are still giving it away for free so sniff that out here.
My Friend Wallis. Do you like reverb drenched tropical pop. Of course you do.

July 1st we are doing a MEGA show because we wanted to see how many chill bros we can fit into one place at a time.
Our sweet little darlings, have just graduated high school and it’s summer break. Their brand new EP Pau Pau (pron: paw paw) comes out tomorrow. Look at their silly promo video. It’s so silly just like you, how can you not want to hear it RIGHT now? ugh, can’t wait.
Playing with them the mighty Humans who have a brand new set they just debuted at their much talked about Music Waste show and NXNE this past week.
TEEN DAZE. Playing new material from his upcoming recordddddd.
This is my favourite TEEN DAZE SONG
Teen Daze – Let’s Fall Asleep Together
Kingdom Cloud have been on my radar for a “long ass time”. We have been exchanging flirtatious emails but it took seeing them at Music Waste to realize how rad these guys are. They will literally make you feel euphoric with how energetic and excited they are playing their indie pop songs in matching outfits.

Paul Simon – Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes (Todd Terje dub)
The Baker Man and The Noodle man
02 27 2011
Lykke Li - I Follow Rivers (The Magician Remix) [pelski highly recommends]
Simon Baker - one of my favorite artists - is finally releasing his long awaited debut album, 'Traces'. The Leeds techno/house stalwart has been around long enough... doing bits and bobs here and there, running his own imprint Infant and putting out some damn fine original productions and, notably, remixes over the last ten years or so. Two years ago RCRDLBL handed out this 192kbps of his remix of singer-songwriter Cortney Tidwell, and, in anticipation of 'Traces', here it is:
Cortney Tidwell - Watusii (Simon Baker Remix){192kbps}
Next up we have two disco edits: one new, one old. A classic from Todd Terje - the King of all things 'edit' - funks things out with this stylish re-rub, all strutting hollow percussion and cosmic phasing effects:
Disco/Very - Get It On (Todd Terje Tangoterje Re-Edit)
I very much doubt that anyone could ever come up with a better artist name than... The Noodleman. The mighty Noodleman himself has put together a rolling piece of sleek, chiming disco that's tasty indeed:
