German House and Electro producer, TAI, just came out with a new mix last week for Dim Mak Records titled, At The Disco, but don’t let the name fool you. Yes, there are definitely some Disco jams peppered inside of the mix, but you better believe that TAI incorporated his signature heavy sound in there with new tracks from Tiga, Gesaffelstein, Brodinski, and of course, TAI himself.

It’s about time that GDD™ and DANCEiSM welcome back our fellow LA collective, DROID BEHAVIOR, for yet another night of the best Techno in the city. Each time we welcome the Droid Behavior crew to VS., The Central in Santa Monica turns into a dark, deep sanctuary for those who enjoy some great Techno, Electro, and occasionally some sweet Acid House. This week we’ll have Audio Injection and Vik Carrillo from the DB team, as well as Alex Pastor and Andrew Serrano warming it up. Until Thursday, enjoy this incredible new Azari & III remix from Techno guru, Tiga.
It’s a Canadian orgy as Turbo Records dictator Tiga re-works “Reckless (With Your Love)” from effluent house-ites Azari & III.
The original bass-funk tune has been dipped in a pot of the‘Albert Hofmann Special’with grinding lines carved out of a granite-like foundation and drums like no-tomorrows-ever-going-to-come.
The self-titled full release from Azari & III dropped in Australia a few months ago (it’s great) on Modular but will see a US release via Island Records come February 19th 2012.
Azari & III interview here and a Little Boots remix here.
In 2003 I fell in love with TIGA, and ever since I’ve followed his antics as closely as possible. Of course there were things he did that I didn’t appreciate and eventually my infatuation wore a bit thin. Still though, I clung onto my Hollywood robomance with the Montreal native.
Back in October I heard his remix of AZARI & III‘s “Reckless With Your Love” on My Name Is Tiga and have been scouring for the tune ever since. Well, a stream has finally been uploaded, alas, we’ll have to wait until February for a proper release.
I’ve probably listened to this 20 times today and every time I do it makes me stop what I’m doing and think, “Fuuuuuuck!” This is, I think, the greatest tune ever.
If the rapidly rising Italian producer, NT89, isn’t on your radar just yet, it will be after you soak in his latest release out on Bad Life Records, Payne EP. Deep, dark, and grungy are the first adjectives that come to mind after listening to the 3 track EP, complete with two originals and a remix from Bang Gang/Mad Decent rep, Obi Blanche. Already picking up hype from Mumbai Science, Bobmo, Paul Chambers, and more, I’m pretty sure we might even witness the big guns like Tiga and Erol playing out this Future Techno masterpiece known as Payne. Pick it up on Beatport now.
The destructive project of ZZT (Zombie Nation and Tiga) just released their full length album Partys Over Earth yesterday on Turbo Recordings. For all those who sleep, eat and breath techno, this is mandatory to go on living. Listen to the relentless album medley in the soundcloud player, and go ahead and download one of my favorite new tracks below. Pick up the entire album on Beatport HERE.
