New Noise

05 28 2010

During my high school years i must have seen Refused at least 20 times, and listened to their epic album “The Shape Of Punk To Come” an uncountable number of times. Now, 12 years later, Epitaph are releasing a deluxe edition of the album that made a stunning impact on people all over the world. June 9th sees the release and in the meantime here’s the Bloody Beetroots vs. Refused remix version of that anthem “New Noise”.

Regular Day Not At Work

Easter Weekend! We get it off here anyways, not sure about the US. Someone I know who goes to university in the US said he still had classes. Let's start off the day with some of The Bloody Beetroots and their remix of Vitalic Second Lives. I don't normally post The Bloody Beetroots because their area of dance music I don't typically enjoy, but I really liked this track. So I made an exception damn it. Second is The Twelves remix of Two Door Cinema Club which I'm four days late on posting. I got to add them on my RSS reader or something to stay up to date on them. As usual from The Twelves, totally the right sound I love, I expect nothing less! And lastly, another Ha! Yes mash-up, this time of Notorious B.I.G. Juicy and The xx Intro. I know, there's been so many B.I.G. and The xx mash-ups lately that you're probably sick of it. I was too, but I heard this and was pleasantly surprised. So before you comment about how disgusted you are before you even listen to the track, give it a chance.

Vitalic + The Bloody Beetroots

03 08 2010

So, I’m not the biggest fan of The Bloody Beetroots. The masks, the stupid videos and the hardcore screaming nonsense just hasn’t captured my attention in the way that it has with others. Credit where credit is due though, this remix they’ve done of Vitalic‘s ‘Second Lives’ is gorgeous and surprisingly quite understated stuff from the duo.

More like this please….

Win a Pair of Tickets to See Groove Armada!

03 05 2010

On the heels of their wildly popular and extremely rad new release, Black Light (which is out everywhere now), Groove Armada are set to make a proper US invasion from mid to late March. If you haven’t copped the album yet, get it here, then keep on reading for a chance to win tickets to their NYC show.

Black Light is GA’s 6th studio album, and since first being laid in the ears of critics and bloggers alike, the response has been an overwhelming rush of positivity and pleasant hand claps. Considered by some to be their best and most cohesive offering to date, we can attest that Andy and Tom are on their grind with this release. From beginning to end, we give the electro synthpop album a big ol’ beastly seal of approval.

With a tour of the States set beginning later this month (all dates here including a few European dates), you can guarantee we’ll be in attendance at their March 24 Webster Hall show here in NYC. We want to see you there dancing alongside us too…so we’re tossing out a pair of tickets to the gig! Info on how to enter below.

So start by following us if you aren’t already…winners get notified by DM, and the only way we can send you a beastly congratulatory message is if you’re on board the beast train.

Next, simply copy and paste the below message and hit send in whatever tweeterrific application you use (we’re partial to TweetDeck ourselves…)

yo @sheenabeaston, turn up the black lights, because i’m going to dance all night long with you at the @groovearmada show @websterhall

That’s all you gotta do…easy peasy. Contest will remain open until 5pm on Friday March 19, so you’ve got two weeks to hit me with your tweets.
