In a similar vane to TJ's dope 2010 Festivus mix posted last week, I just compiled my January mix. The recent techno roundup brought with it a grip of controversy, so this mix comes with an advisory label: it contains techno. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy this mix with some fresh material as well as a couple of oldies in there for good measure:

07. Nouveau Yorican - Chiuso 08. Umek - Novi Sad (Uto Karem Remix) 09. Pan-Pot - Black Horse Down 10. Para One - Nevrosis 11. Electric Rescue - Money (Citizen Kain & Phuture Traxx Remix) 12. What's good Dirty Dancers?! It gives us great pleasure to announce our first ever European show, which we're throwing in connection with Metamimetic at London's legendary East Village on Friday 29 October! We've curated a lineup which includes very special friends, but also some of the freshest talent the electronic music scene has to offer. After all it's Halloween, so the emphasis is on blooding new artists...
It's a huge honor to bring debut signing to Boys Noize RecordsTrax: Electric Rescue to London for this special occasion. Expect nothing but big room Techno from this French wizard on his first UK date of 2010! Joining him will be one half of She Is Danger, Maya Jane Coles who's been kicking up massive heat with her Deep House grooves. Maya is currently at #1 in the Beatport Deep House Charts for her track 'What They Say' - Check it out, it's utter fire. Joining the party and providing you with ample kicks for the night: GDD™ homie, Fazhands will be tearing up the decks, playing a back to back set with Dark Party's BoaBoa, as well as a live show from Metamimetic's ZX, and an opening set from myself - SweetFA.
Hope all you London-basers can make it, I look forward to partying with you all.
When: Friday 29th October 2010
Where: East Village, 89 Great Eastern Street, London EC2A 3HX
We'll be featuring an exclusive interview with Electric Rescue next week, but in the meantime, he's been kind enough to provide us with his live set from Rex in Paris last month:
This summer, GottaDanceDirty homie and Metamimetic label-mate Tre has been hard at work in the studio, putting the finishing touches to his debut EP: Donna. From Los Angeles, Tre's live sets are epic affairs of heavy electro and dubstep; Control regulars will most likely have caught one of these spectacles in the Honey Lounge this year in support of acts like Simian Mobile Disco and Don Diablo. Tre's unmatched charisma behind the turntables comes from several years experience as the frontman for a screamo punk band, and his instrumental EP is certainly influenced by this. Donna features 5 originals, including the reworked 'Get Up', a track that we featured back in February. Dubstep and classical influences are pretty resonant throughout, with a well rounded debut that is as raw and overdriven, as it is mellow and melodic. So get at it:
For all you UK based Dirty Dancers: this Wednesday we'll be heading up North and laying siege to Leeds Cockpit where Metamimetic are hosting Room 2 at a new night called Drop The Phone. Sets come from ZX, Fazhands and yours truly, SweetFA. So roll through and say what's up. In the meantime, here are a couple of tracks to get the Tech-House juices flowing for Fazhands' forthcoming EP, set to drop in October:
LA - This Wednesday our pals over at ShiftyRhythms are hosting their high powered GET SHIFTY night at Main on Main in Santa Monica. This is their first event of the school year, so it's guaranteed to be a wild and shifty affair with $4 bev's and free entry before 11pm ($5 after).
Beats will be provided by ShiftyRhythms residents Doc P and The KiD, and an opening 9-11 set from yours truly: SweetFA - what a privilege. You can whet your whistle for Wednesday by checking out their recent promo vid below. See you on the dancefloor!
Sorry for the extended hiatus everybody. I had a holiday break full of tequila, border police, and snow bunnies, and I have to say it’s wonderful to be back in school. I hope you all had an excellent new year and got some sweet strange ass at midnight. But now, it is a new decade and why not celebrate the big ’10 with us at the Avalon in Hollywood with Drop The Lime and Designer Drugs this Friday? Tear down those Christmas lights and throw away that gross egg nog, it’s time to rave again.
The GDD™ room will be going off this week with our good friend Taylor from kidcityblog making a special guest DJ appearance as well as ///BONES, Mr. Anderson, and your favorite British DJ in Los Angeles sweetFA.
