As I mentioned previously, I’ve been crazily busy recently, so I haven’t got time to do a great post. But these are some nice tracks that I’ve recently picked up.
The first track comes from a mix which Jamie from The xx just did for colette. I hadn’t picked up on Egypt’s In The Morning (Let Your Love Come In), until now, which is a good house track.

Also colette related is iconic fashion moguls Karl Largerfeld’s musical debut. He provides vocals on SomethingALaMode’s contribution to a recently released compilation from colette. This is a banging electro track.

Next is a new track from the Klaxons, who are one of the UK’s biggest indie’s band. They haven’t released anything since 2007, so this is exciting. It’s more rock-like than their previous stuff, but it’s still got that familiar Klaxons sound.

Japanese producer Shinichi Osawa remixed the Cazals track Poor Innocent Boys quite a while back, but I hadn’t heard it up until now. It’s a busy electro/indie crossover, and comes highly recommended.

Another track which has been out quite a while is Echoes by Digitalism. This track is from the 2007 album Idealism and is worthy of Daft Punk. High praise indeed.

Starfucker are more indie inclined than anything I’ve previously posted, but they are definitely worth listening to. One of the only indie ’supergroups’, their track Florida, as the name suggests, is a sweet summer tune.

Like the Klaxons, Mark Ronson has been quiet for some while now. Although his last album was criticised for being too one-dimensional and all being covers, I didn’t care because it sounded good. Well, Ronson has moved away from that sound with Bang Bang Bang, which features MDNR & Q-Tip, too a more electronic sound. However it works, and has the same charm as all of his past work.

Australian Cullen is a big name to watch out for in the acoustic world. However, I didn’t think that would interest too many FPK readers, so I included the awesome Redial remix instead.

There have been quite a few remixes of Flashback by Calvin Harris, my personal favorite coming from DJ Kue. However, Virginian producer Manila Killa has produced a good contender, without changing the song too drastically.

Another good remix is Epyk’s take on Jamaica’s recent blog smash I Think I Like U 2, taking the guitar based track and turning into electro gold. Turns out it’s Madagascan electro gold. Epyk is definitely the most exotic DJ in this post!

Two remixes which I’ve included in my next set are Trumpdisco’s take on Fatboy Slim hit Right Here, Right Now and Grandtheft’s remix of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers smash By The Way. Both are excellent takes on classic tracks which will fill up the dancefloor right away.

I’ll finish up with Hockey’s track Too Fake. A big hit last year which I have been slightly ignorant too. An all round superb indie track.

During the process of editing this, another track has come up. It’s a link up between Pharrell & The Swedish House Mafia (OMG!) and yeah, it’s as good as it ought to be. Here it is.

Sorry about the poor quality of the writing this week, time hasn’t been there really! It will improve again next week though!
Enjoy
