Here we are again, and this year I wanted to up the ante to include the top 50 tracks of 2011. So fire up the audio player at the bottom left of the screen and enjoy what I thought to be the best electronic pop tracks of 2011.
Another Ed Banger (Justice, Uffie, Daft Punk, Cassius et al.) boy, SebastiAn, who’ve I’ve discussed before, released his debut Album, Total, in May. That was a long time coming. Another dance-tastic, disco fueled, french house album, SebastiAn’s crowning song is ‘Love In Motion’. Featuring Mayer Hawthorne on vocals, it’s, well, just beautiful. It wouldn’t be bad if this is what love sounded like.
Back again with the Best of 2011 (thus far…) pt 2
This is my list of the best electronic music I found between the months of April through June of 2011
You can read my previous picks from January - March: here

TONIGHT the Avalon in Hollywood will play host to a mind-blowing, highly anticipated live set from Ed Banger‘s SebastiAn. It’s been over 4 years since the last time I saw SebastiAn when he played one of the best dance music events I’ve ever attended. Yes, that would be Daft Punk, Ratatat, SebastiAn, and Kavinksy at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles in July of 2007. With a newly orchestrated live set as well as supporting sets from Sharooz, Destructo, Brazzabelle, and Andy D’Arrigo, I’m sure this will be a night of CONTROL to remember.

“The waves ≠ raves consists of hand-picked gems that inspire us, tickling and tempting our creative juices. Some are old, some are new, but it is what we are listening to now. They are groovey, flowing, and sun-kissed just like that perfect wave. They are uplifting and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. They sound the best with a babe in one hand, a cold brewski in the other, and the sand beneath your feet. Stay Dreamy.”
Foreword from Viceroy:
While the music market continues to grow into an ‘over saturation’ of electronic blogs, the majority of them seem to only know how to post those same absolute jams that their competition managed to post in previous features. That alone is not enough to make a blog stand out in my mind. I have been and always will be a huge fan of Gotta Dance Dirty. Why? They not only have the most up to date jams from the big dogs, but they support up and coming artists too. How many well-established blogs do that? I can’t name many. Supporting my summery beats since I started in February, Gotta Dance Dirty has given me the honor of hand selecting the tracks for Waves ≠ Raves Mixtape Vol. 14. Looking for some sun-kissed disco to cap off your summer fun? Look no further.
Instant love on this track. Dripping with Prince’s Kiss vibe and flavor it’s hard not to fall in love with this. Wait for the snare to come on the second verse and I dare you tell me that ain’t sexy. This is taken from SebastiAn’s full length “Total”.
After years of being in the scene, attached to the ultimate French house imprint, Ed Banger Records — which also includes fellow French DJ’s Justice, Mr. Oizo, Busy P — beloved producer SebastiAn has finally released his first proper full length, Total.
I totally missed April Fools. I didn’t fool anyone nor did anyone fool me. That’s disappointing and quite anticlimactic compared to the one from 2009, unfortunately all the comments were deleted. I’ll keep something in mind for next year. I’ve been absolutely garbage at checking my email the last couple weeks, so these tracks are a result of music blog skimming. Yea, I take no credit for finding these tracks on my own except for the SposhRock remix. First off, the Fred Falke remix of Metronomy. Is there a Fred Falke remix I haven’t liked? No, greatness as usual. Relatively new SebastiAn track Embody and a new Kavinsky remix of the track. I think I’m in heaven, this totally reminds me of the good old days when I started blogging. You can check out the video for the original track here. And lastly, the SposhRock remix of Miami HorrorHolidays. It’s calmer than the other ones but I like it.
