CELSIUS

02 01 2012

New on Russ Chimes’ label UNO MAS is this release from ‘mystery man’ Celsius (you’ll work out who it is if you dig around). Check Falling Arrows, a rapid-fire, Chicago-tipping house with an irrepressible, ‘fuck you and put your hands up now thanks’ break.

Great new video from Melbourne bro-band Northeast Party House, a moody, tropical dance-punk quintet recently signed to Stop Start Music, an EMI partner and home to Ballpark Music and Hungry Kids of Hungary.

Blood Diamonds

01 12 2012

A not really new, actually track from Blood Diamonds that tickled me so lovingly, I just had to post it up.
Blood Diamonds – Grins

This Canadian fella has been a little bit quiet through the second half of 2011, but this was a timely little reminder of why we love BD’s erratic interpretation of dreamwave’s standard tropes.

More Blood Diamonds here.

Also – what a dumbo for thinking Google would rank a DIY electronic act over the might of a Leo DiCaprio star vehicle, amirite?

RIP Acid Girls

12 22 2011

A sad day… from Greg Acid Girls:

Jamie and I are playing our last show tonight, and we uploaded this album which consists of songs most of you have probably not heard, mostly.
I would appreciate it if you blogged it or whatever if you’re into it, just cos I really like a lot of these songs and think they deserve to be heard.
There is a track which was written in 2006 and is the first song I ever finished in Ableton, and the most recent one was finished just a month or so ago.

Here’s a full album of unreleased Acid Girls goodness. Merry Xmas and RIP.
