Moment Sound is a record label dedicated to music inspired by 80s Chicago house and the classic and essential sounds vintage synthesizer music. Chicago based musicians Joshua Kleckner, Garo Tokat, and Slava Balasanov run the label as well as contribute to it’s content. They have a 12″ scheduled to be released in March. Weirdest Birthday Party Ever!

I’ll be honest with you, filter house is not really my thing, but Ghosts of Venice sent this music video yesterday for their song “I Learned From The Best” and it has got to be one the weirdest portrayals of a birthday party I’ve ever seen. I can’t help but share it with you. What the hell is going on here? Ahhh! Creepy Ronald McDonald and that kid sized teddy bear will probably give me nightmares tonight:(

Reverse Dotty

There are some bands that have the ability to capture and demonstrate those secret feelings you struggle to record in your diary. Reverse Dotty have figured out how to capture that dark Portland mood that only months of grey, rain, shitty jobs, the exclusive company of artists and intellectuals and frequent hangovers can concoct. It’s frustrated, cynical, clever, sexy, and dark music. I love it. It is the sound and soul of the city I live in.
Reverse Dotty first formed in 2006. The current line-up includes Buck Trussel, Felony Dot, Carls 10-4, and D. Train who are all talented multi-instrumentalists and frequently trade roles on stage and in the studio making for an interesting and fresh visual and creative dynamic. Their sound is self-described as “post-pop” and sound like the band that Sonic Youth, B-52s, and Devo would make if they got together in 1979 and made an album. Felony Dot even kinda looks and sounds like Cindy Wilson of the B-52s They have shared the bill with world famous bands such as Yelle, New Young Pony Club, The Kills, and The Gossip.

Round Table Knights – Winter Mix 2010

We had the pleasure of catching the Swiss dynamic duo Round Table Knights at a huge party here in Malmö last week and Discobelle DJ’s will also be heading down to Bern on February 10th for a gig with them at their hometurf Club Bonsoir. The boys provided the Malmö crowd with a set that had everybody dancing and smiling within minutes, it’s been a long time since i had that much fun of a dancefloor. For those of you that haven’t been able to catch the duo yet, here’s their latest mix which is filled to the brink with sweet tunes.
