Mixin’ It Up: Digital Boy + Shark

07 23 2010

The Discobelle Mixin’ It Up series has been on a bit of a hiatus but now we’re back in full force with this mindblowing seriously assaulting mix of rave and bass courtesy of Italian producer Digital Boy & Italian NYC transplant Badman Shark. Together they form the duo Digital Boy + Shark, check out their newly launched website Gangster Rave and now we’ll let them do the talking.

“Past, present and future collide as the forefather of Italian Rave music, Digital Boy, joins forces with one of New York’s most infamous bass warriors, Mishka NYC’s music man, badman Shark. In just under 5 months of activity they established the shape of Rave to come: 2010 will see the rebirth of Techno through Rave, Hardcore and decades of blood, sweat and tears spent on hoarding the best parts of dance music genres blending it into one, sounding like a punch to your face! With support from all the Italian heavy weights like Crookers (for whom they will be remixing “Royal T”), Congorock and Riva Starr and international champions of modern sound Doorly, Buraka Som Sistema, Trouble & Bass, Night Slugs and DMC champ Shiftee; the duo will be looking to release it’s first single in October and EP shortly after including collaborations by Igor Cavalera (Sepultura, Mixhell) and vocalist Carrie Wilds (Drop The Lime, Crookers) along side remixes by Buraka Som Sistema, Congorock, Adam Tensta, Rx feat. Chae Hawk, Mr. Vega, Bare Noize, Alexander Technique, Blatta & Inesha, Deathface and Kaptain Cadillac.

This is the debut mix from Italian duo Digital Boy + Shark. 40 minutes of cut throat mixes and edits to be reckoned with that play out like a freight train destroying everything in it’s past. The lines between time are blurred by hyper speed and heavy bass creating a time space continuum from which there is no escape! Featuring the dance floor smasher “Gangster Rave”, the anthem “No One Can Stop Us” and their soon to be released remix of Congorock’s “Babylon”, this is more than an introduction… It’s a warning!

Digital Boy + Shark – Spirit of ’91 Mix, Discobelle Mixin’ It Up (Mediafire)

1 Combichrist – This Shit Will Fuck You Up

My recent obsession with Hellraiser has brought me back to the dark side of music. I’ve always had a soft spot of Goth and EBM and thanks to our partner in crime Lightknife and his dark past we were able to dig up this gem and open the doors to another dimension…

2 Drop the Lime – Doomsday Device

The Heavy Bass Champion of the world delivers yet again. DTL has been a long time brother in bass and has shared many sleepless nights driven by our common passion for the music and NYC owes alot to this person. We Never Sleep!

3 Mr. Vega – Whopper Junior

Our friends Mr. Vega and the Subdrive imprint have been real busy pumping out quality music and this is a great example of it…I could drop this anytime even though i’m vegetarian!

4 Digital Boy + Shark – No One Can Stop Us

In this dream i saw myself and Digital Boy on top of a mountain with the clouds running fast behind us in a firey sky. Him holding high the bass flag and myself chanting “No One, No One Can Stop Us!”

5 Bizarre Inc – Raise Me

Somehow we have the worst memory and definitely we have all our brain cells but don’t fault us for wanting to play this more than once, it’s been on the playlist since the early ’90s and we don’t plan on stopping now.

6 Example – Dirty Face (Benga Remix / Dominator Edit)

Years ago i had to babysit the Afro Warrior and trust me, you best give the man his Chinese Food! the evening was followed by a session of myspace dating and watching wrestling and ended in a sweaty night courtesy of T&B during which, borderline throwing up, he fed the crowd bombs while I incited them to riot!

7 Boys Noize – Kontact Me (Beataucue Remix)

It is undeniable that the kids still want Techno and who better than Boys Noize to deliver a classic pounding to the cranium! I can always recall the first time i heard someone’s track i liked and this was, as many others, in a dark basement courtesy of the Fixed party’s Dave P and JDH.

8 Blatta & Inesha – Pet Massage

Inesha used to be in a turntablists crew called Alien Army that literally ruled the Italian underground for many years. How incredible is it that he now, along side Blatta, makes these heavy tunes? Really cosigning the whole turntablist migration towards dance music. More body tricks please!

9 The Prodigy – Everybody In The Place (Fairground Remix)

The Prodigy is without a doubt one of my inspirations for music but also for life, they were always seminal for their style and forward sound. Nothing better than a group that still stands their ground after so many years and can still produce relevant music. One of Digital Boy’s first USA tours was supporting them and Moby back in 1991 and there was hell to pay! The echo of destruction still resonate… and whatever you do, make sure you never touch another man’s equipment before the play!

10 Congorock – Babylon (Digital Boy + Shark Remix)

If you had asked me one year ago, after recording the vocals for the original track, if i thought it would have gotten this huge…i would have said, of course! It is a great feeling to see an old friend through thick and thin and we couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this track. One day perhaps the world will hear the warrior edit of “Babylon” with the entire vocal session…

11 AC Slater – Take You (Doorly Remix)

Life is nothing but a sequence of days starting at 3am and mr. Slater is the boss of this time! Once the clock turns to 3am you are in his possession and there is no escape! Enter Doorly… it’s Chris Penn time!

12 Holy Noise – Get Down Everybody

It is such an honor to collaborate with a legend of the previous rave generation, not only for the magic that is performed in the studio with the use of analog hardware and modern day software but also for the quality story telling. Digital Boy started touring in the early 90s when i was in Jr High School and has played along side every big name in rave. He recall this being one of the first tracks to come out of Rotterdam in 1991:” I recall going to Midtown Records and Paul Elstak (a name to reckon with in Hardcore), who at the time was working there as a clerk, gave me this promo. He told me it was his production and that DJ Rob played it out all the time at Parkzicht in Rotterdam. I was sold, the rest is history…”

13 Huoratron – Corporate Occult

Mad music from a mad man! A couple of days spent with this individual and you’ll get a perspective on the northern hemisphere. So you know, this is the real cause of global warming.

14 Lil’ Louis – Video Clash

One Digital Boy’s all time favorites from 1987, most likely the first real techno track he heard and it still holds true in its simplicity and raw energy.

15 Waxmaster – Waxscratch (His Majesty Andre Edit)

Us Italians just keep multiplying and taking over all your music. The King is dead, long live the king.

16 Manix – 88 To Piano

Will the ever be a day when DJs will pay attention to what other ones play right before them? I honestly don’t wanna hear the same track 3 times during the night. I can deal if its a genuine banger and then maybe i can go for a repeat. Well, times haven’t changed as this here was the tune everyone played over and over in Italy and Holland’s mega raves in the early 90s. The nuisance is when you are the headliner, such as Digital Boy was, do you play this track for the third or fourth time?

17 Manix – Special Request (Hero Remix / Set Me Free Edit)

Our favorite vocalist of these times, Carrie Wilds, could not miss out on the action. The defining vocal of 2010 from a modern classic courtesy of DTL, “Set Me Free”.
“Old school or the new, doesn’t mean a thing if your heart’s not true. Greedy ones faded fast, we’re here. Built to last!” – Sick Of It All

18 Rusko – Kumon Kumon

I can still remember the first time i heard those horns… “FUCK!”. The raw energy that Rusko brings to his, blood sweat and tears at any given moment! Still to day we really need to make a response to “Cockney Thug”… Did anyone say “Guido Thug” ? After 7 years finally the USA is catching up to this mysterious music called Dubstep. Good Job!

19 MMM - Nous Sommes MMM

All praises due to the kings of dark techno: Jokers Of The Scene, for being the purveyors of future unknown pleasures. They have always been my I.V. of bangers and this one is certainly one of them. Full steam ahead!

20 Momma’s Boy/Mikix The Cat – Party Rock

This is certainly the product of a life with no sleep, a life that thrives on big bass as its life’s blood! In between buying swanky shoes and getting haircuts, the big bad Cat finds time to produce a pounding EP. Warning: step away from the screen when playing this or you will get knocked out!

21 Swedish House Mafia – One (Congorock Remix)

When i think of “One”, my mind wonders to Metallica… seems that it’s reaching the same height in a weird parallel universe. Congorock certainly ads the the land mines to this remix… “All that i see, absolute horror!” – James Hetfield

22 Benga – Baltimore Clap (Yall Ain’t Safe Edit)

Do you remember the first time you heard that B-More break? If you were in NYC then you were definitely at one of the epic Cut parties where The Captain and myself on a megaphone would be invading people’s space and making even the walls sweat! This is how we give back, big up Unruly and all the big boys of the Baltimore Club sound.

23 Marshall Master – Stereo Murder

This is the devil’s voice. It echos in our brain from the cradle to the grave, we are slaves to the rave!

24 Deathface – We Still Kill The Old Way

“Hey man don’t you see that you’re scaring people?”.”Cool, how about you leave?”
- Deathface

25 N.R.G – He Never Lost His Hardcore

Years of incessantly devouring music has brought us to where we are. We cannot forget our past, we embrace it and celebrate it to create a better, harder future.

26 Lauren Flax & MK Feat. Carrie Wilds -Stronger Now (Bare Noize Remix)

“Hey man, how is it?”. “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!”. I got my bass face on and I’m slipping into a skankin’ paralysis.

27 Bart B More – Brap

“I really like this track because it build and build and builds and then and then it has that grinding sound and then and then” yeah we get it, we like it too.

28 Junior Sanchez – HeavE Mental

This dude ain’t soft no more! He’s been grinding hard with his Jersey brother Alexander Technique and many other big boys of Techno baking pounds of bass! Don’t touch my face…I can’t feel it!

29 Lightknife – This Is

Legend goes that after this track was produce, it was never to be listened to again as it caused hearing loss. Lightknife somehow escaped to tell the tale and continue producing haunting musical monsters. We are not insured, don’t sue if you go deaf.

30 Alias – Gladiator (4×4 Remix)

This is my life as a Thug Wizard, i wear basketball jerseys and sweatpants; i get denied at borders but most importantly i party all night long and i never ever forget the stickers.

31 Phenomania – Who Is Elvis (Who is LVis Edit)

We built a time machine and we ended up in a little village of Mali, after we got chased by shamans as they thought we were demons we jumped into a waterfall and ended up in a vessel orbiting Mars. This is the sound of our heads rattling, please no bongos.

32 Skream – Pitfall

Not too many people can be cited for having created essential tracks to one genre. Skream is one of the forefathers of Dubstep. Too much backseat DJing on the megaphone…

33 Digital Boy + Shark – Gangster Rave

This is the past, present and future. This is who we are and we swear we’ve never tried any chemical substances… coming at you like a punch to your face! Gangster Rave 2010! Nocche dure come mattoni!”

Mixin’ it up: Friendly Greg

04 23 2010

Time for a new Mixin’ it up! This time we have fellow grindin member Greg Dona who runs the excellent blog Panda Toes. He has also made a name for himself as a dj and has also been throwing parties in Dartmouth College were he brought in folks like Jubilee, DStar, Villains, Dani Deahl, Yes Giantess, Fashen, etc. But now he is all yours with this weeks Mixin’ it Up.

value="always"> height="81" src="http://player.soundcloud.com/player.swf?url=http%3A%2F%2Fsoundcloud.com%2Ffriendlygreg%2Fbleeps-and-bloops-and-mountain-dew&g=1&"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="100%">

1. Round Table Knights – “Belly Dance (Mowgli Remix)”

“Belly Dance” is the first Round Table Knights song I ever fell in love with. However, it was the Mowgli remix of the aforementioned song that really blew me away. The percussion is wildly energizing despite being relatively simple and soft, which has made this one of my most used tracks during opening sets.

2. Camel – “Zig Zag”

“Zig Zag” is another sneaky track that gets people dancing frantically even though the song itself is pretty tame. It may be be the repetitive vocals. Perhaps it’s the uniqueness of the instrumental. I honestly have no idea what makes this tune so effective. What I do know is that this is yet another one of my favorite opening tracks.

3. Round Table Knights – “Calypso”

And here I return to Round Table Knights. Though “Belly Dance” was my first love, “Calypso” is my one true love. It amazes me how a track that’s seemingly so simple simultaneously has so much going on. Everything from the claps to the chants of “woo” plays a necessary part in making this is a seriously fun track.

4. French Fries – “Predador (Original Mix)”

Next up is an original from one of my favorite producers in the game: French Fries. Though it’s generally his percussion that kills me, the horns on this cut are what really get me going.

5. French Fries – “Senta (Original Mix)”

Though it may be a bad habit, I pretty consistently mix French Fries tracks back-to-back. The dude’s killing it right now, and one song simply isn’t enough. Here’s it’s the vocals that really move things along.

6. Dooze Jackers – “Got Line!”

“Got Line!” steps up the energy level with its high-pitched instrumental, shouted vocals, and considerable builds and drops. The name Dooze Jackers may baffle me to no end, but there’s nothing even remotely unclear about how much I love this track.

7. Zombies for Money – “Numbra One”

“Numbra One” is almost too obvious here, but that’s fine by me. Little changes musically when transitioning from “Got Line!” to “Numbra One” – the songs have a similar sound and energy level – yet the transition is indescribably invigorating.

8. Silvio Ecomo and Chuckie – “Moombah (Afrojack Remix)”

The Afrojack remix of “Moombah” may be another obvious choice, but once again I simply don’t care. This song knocks – don’t try to tell me otherwise. The cries of “turn up the bass” make crowds go crazy – just ask Dave Nada.

9. Afrojack – “Bangduck (Original Mix)”

A grip of people hate on “Bangduck” for being a “Bangkok” ripoff. Yes, “Bangkok” came first. And yes, they’re incredibly similar. Still, the borderline cheesy introductory moments of “Bangduck” rile me up in the best of ways. “Bangkok” is fabulous, but “Bangduck” is my go-to.

10. DJ Bam Bam and Mr. Robotic – “Watch the Club Go”

“Watch the Club Go” is a track I’ve had success sneaking into sets for Top 40-lovers. Most people act like sheep on the dance floor – one person hears the vocalist shout “let’s go,” gets pumped, and the rest of the room follows suit.

11. DJ Jean – “New Dutch Shuffle”

It took me quite some time to believe that the DJ Jean that produced “New Dutch Shuffle” was in fact the same DJ Jean that’s responsible for “The Launch.” But honestly, it makes sense – “The Launch” was a super influential song and “New Dutch Shuffle” is a surefire hit at almost any club.

12. DirtyBeats – “Alone in the Jungle (Tom Piper Remix)”

Words can describe neither why nor how much I love this song. If music could have A.D.H.D. it would sound like this. Which, of course, is a good thing.

13. NT89 – “Pumpin (Feat. Distrakt) (Beataucue Remix)”

My friend once described Beataucue’s tracks as “music that only sounds good when you’re wasted at three in the morning.” I, on the other hand, listen to Beataucue when I study in the library. This may or may not be part of the reason that I’ll go deaf before I hit my midlife crisis.

14. U-Tern “Style, Class, Flair”

The mix takes a huge turn here by moving from the fast, loud Beataucue to the silky smooth U-Tern. I respect the gent’s taste more than you’d ever believe, and his production is on point as well. U-Tern’s latest track is an absolute standout, and there was no way I was gonna leave it out of this mix.

15. Justin Faust – “Holdin’ On”

It all comes to a close with what’s quite possibly my favorite tune of the moment: “Holdin’ On.” I rarely DJ parties frequented by the type of folks that go out looking to hear a Justin Faust track, so I play a few hours of whatever it is they want to hear, then wrap things up with this poppy disco house gem. By that time they’re too drunk to complain that I’m not playing LMFAO or Drake. They can thank me later.

Mixin’ It Up: Slap & Dash

03 26 2010

One of the most anticipated Mixin’ It Ups (well, for us anyway) has finally arrived, Slap & Dash (AKA Scattermish & Mu-Gen from the Scattermusic crew down in Melbourne) brings us a hyped up monster of a mix that clocks in at 64 tracks all rolled into one tight as hell and unstoppable party inducing mix. Throw this on and get ready for the ride of your life!

“Hyping from Melbourne Slap and Dash (Mu-Gen & Scattermish) are leading the charge of young Australian club rats into the future of DJ shows and production. Since becoming blood brothers in 2008 they have spent their time in Scatters dingy garage studio organising; a world class record label SCATTERMUSIC, planning ridiculous club shows that have hosted some of the biggest names in the world, avoiding stepping on painful Lego blocks sprawled around the floor, scouring the earth to find new talent and music, killing spiders, and generally being besties.”

This mix is a great example of the bat shit crazy live shows we put together, backed up by dancers, costumes and a killer VJ all mixed live on four Technics 1200’s. We really tried to translate the energy of our show here, and give the listener the best opportunity to understand where club music culture is going in Melbourne at the moment. Our sound is very original, very party and very ghetto. We try not to use ‘the big tunes’ and instead create a ‘big mix’ utilising the massive amount of underrepresented music from all over the globe available to us. No computer layers were used to do it, it’s 100% live using 4 decks, two mixers, Serato and Traktor (vinyl). With the best takes pasted together.

1 Slap & Dash – Hare
2 Tranter – Pon De Baby

Our intro is essentially based around Tranter’s (his EP is due out next on Scattermusic) mammoth “Pon De Baby” joint. He played it at a festival early this summer and when we heard and saw how the crowd reacted to that 50cent 808 sped up, our jaws dropped. The after thought to the intro was our tune “Hare” – to be released as part of a Slap & Dash DJ Tools EP. It’s everything we love, a ruff distorted drum roll, a bunch of horns (from Herve’s Badman Riddim) and a huge synth build which runs for ~2 mins till the end of the song.

3 Sam Tiba – Barbie Weed
4 Douster – Schlaggada (Swaggada edit)
5 Ronny Santana – En La Nalga (On The Arse) feat. Jordy
6 Laidback Luke & Diplo – Hey (Skitzofrenix & Jeff Doubleu Remix)

Wasting no time, the mix jumps straight into Ghetto-Hype music. Carried by Sam Tiba’s (seriously him and Club Cheval are a name to look out for with this sound) Barbie Weed, with added bounce from another favourite of ours, Douster. Then Ronny Santana and Luke & Diplo for an old school cut-up sample drop.

7 Passion Pit – Little Secrets (L-Vis 1990 Remix)
8 R1 Ryders – Rubberband
9 CLP – Ready Or Not (Diplo vs DJ Sega Remix)

L-Vis’s euphoric remix of Little Secrets help us settle the mix down and get things moving – tune is so smooth. The mix of R1 Ryders and CLP is the only bit of our older mix that we still use. That bass sound that just instantly reminds you of R1 Ryders is so completely infectious, we can’t imagine getting tired of it. And that “Ready Or Not” tune seemed to be totally slept on, where did it come from and where did it go?

10 Bassjackers & Jorn – 16 (Sidney Samson Remix)
11 French Fries – African Track

Sidney Samson has really proven himself to be more than a one hit wonder – his remix of “16” is so heavy and so rolling. The hooky, cut-up vocals from French Fries’ “African Track” helps get your hands up.

12 Zombies For Money – Bhangra Dance
13 Leon & Ruggero – Shake Crazy Horse (Mastiksoul Bump Remix)

The Zombies For Money free EP was a project close to our own hearts, “Bhangra Dance” definitely a favourite track off it. It’s almost surprising how much people love the tune out live too. The screwed Beastie Boys sample from Mastiksoul’s remix help tie it all in.

14 Afrojack, David Guetta – Toyfriend (Instrumental)
15 French Fries – Senta

Afrojack stepped up Guetta’s game for this one! The is kinda so typical Afrojack/Dutch; an obnoxious high pitched synth, and a huge kick, but fuck, it’s sooo Ghetto! Again French Fries comes to town with great cuts and drums (be sure to check out his remix for Scattermusic’s fourth release: DirtyBeats – “Alone In The Jungle” out march 30th).

16 DirtyBeats – Alone In The Jungle (Tom Piper Remix)
17 ICS – Emil
18 MVSEVM – French Jeans (Style of Eye Remix)

On that note, we just couldn’t resist including the party as hell Tom Piper remix of DirtyBeats – this tune gets people running to our computer screens everytime it’s played and mixed with the evolving bassline in ICS’ Emil and the epic Style of Eye MVSEVM Remix (Discobelle Records BOOOOM!) the section stands out of one of our favourites of the whole mix.

19 Count & Sinden – Strange Things (R1 Ryders ‘Funkitek’ Remix)
20 Tim Dolla – Let’s Bang
21 Jesse Rose – Youre All Over My Head

This whole section (including the above one) really epitomizes the tip that we’re on at the moment. It’s current and a bit Techy, there’s bassline, Hype drums and quick jump up vocal hooks. On top of that, the sound feels like songs rather than straight-up club tunes – it’s all about the arrangement and energy. As for the individual tracks; R1 Ryders dominate that bassline again, Tim Dollar tune is a gem from a trade, cutting up Kid Sister to great effect and Jesse Rose’s old Dubsided release fits in so well to a current sound – again proving how far ahead of their time some of those Dubsided releases were.

22 French Fries – Predador
23 Lucid – Night Go

MORE French Fries (that “Arma EP” was off the hook!) along with a newcomer from Melbourne, Lucid with his rad-as track Night Go, soon to be released on an EP for Scattermusic. Our crew is really feeling a connection in sound to the Young Gunz guys from France. Proven here in a very “Dirty-Hype” mix from tunes of each respective label.

24 Nadastrom – Inner Midget
25 Berou and Canblaster – Kapongo Dance
26 Diplo And Blaqstarr – Get Off (Bonus Beats)
27 Douster – King Of Africa

This whole section is a real hat off to our Hip Hop upbringing and influence. We know playing that card is really cliché, but we really try to incorporate elements of Hip Hop from the style in which we DJ to the way we produce and sample, to the tracks that we choose and how we mix them. Kapongo Dance is another gem from Club Cheval’s Berou and Canblaster. Then a long Hype mix of Get Off and Douster’s King Of Africa (you guys peeped the VIP mix of that yet? Shiiiiit.)

28 Nadastrom – Squarez
29 Momma’s Boy – Maldito Nino (Tom Flynn’s Big Momma Remix)
30 The Big Pink – Dominos (Switch Remix)
31 Lil Silva – Different

Nadastrom’s Squarez is such a huge tune that it’s almost hard to match when finding a track to mix. Tom Flynn’s version of Maldito Nino manages to bring the goods with those tribal drums, allowing for the ballistic drunken remix by Switch (still the hottest producer in the world) of the Big Pink and the warm, droney tones of Lil Silva’s “Different”.

32 Jesse Rose – Well Now
33 Damian Marley – All Night
34 Radioclit – Divine Gosa (Switch Remix)

Although most of these tunes are quite old, the sound is something in itself. This section really shows off the use and advantage of 4 turntables – everything plays at once and has been rearranged live to fit, something that isn’t possible on 2. Well Now, All Night and Divine Gosa all work together to sound kinda pop-y, but at the same time club and real, real fun.

35 Rivastarr ft Noze – I Was Drunk (Douster Remix)
36 Al Ripken Jr & Diamond K – Hands In The Air (Bok Bok Remix)
37 Crookers – Put Your Hands On Me (BeatauCue Remix)

Somehow we manage to move into a happy Balkan Douster remix and then to a balls out bassline (Beataucue’s Crookers remix) featuring chants from the awesome Bok Bok remix of “Hands In The Air” which runs the whole length of this section. Like the “Get Off” section and the “Lions” section below, we treat this as a kinda remix – with a base song and about 2-4 other tracks mixed around and over it.

38 Digital Manges – Manges (Sharkslayer Dub Mix)
39 Klingberg – T (Dave Darell Remix)

This mix of the still huge Sharkslayer Digital Manges remix and Dave Darell’s “T” remix would have to be a contender for the most ecstatic party section of the whole mix. The builds are spastic and the massive drop of both tunes together carries them to say the least – so carnival and so club.

40 Malente & Dex ft New Kidz – Lions (Douster Remix)
41 Gregor Salto ft. Thais – Mexer (Funkin Matt 3AM Remix)
42 Rishi Romero – African Forest
43 Christian Dehugo – Viva El Cante

As we mentioned above, this is another song/remix section. Our much-loved Douster “Lions” remix runs close to the whole length of these blends. “African Forest”, “Mexer” and “Viva El Cante” which were all huge club tunes in their own right come together to form one tight, evolving mix.

44 Buraka Som Sistema – IC19 (James Talk Remix)
45 Deadset – Tick Tock
46 Harry Choo Choo Romero – Cumbia (Jose Nunez Cumbia Electronika)

The claps from “Viva El Cante” carry over into the James Talk “IC19” remix (so underrated), for a really South American/Portuguese/Samba feel. The Jose Nunez remix of “Cumbia” caries it further into this modern carnival world.

47 Erick Rincon – Magdalena (Exclusiva Gales)
48 Arthur Baker -Tear Down The Walls (SonicC Remix)

Magdalena keeps it real tribal, from Erick Rincon – a 17yr old king of the Mexican Tribal Guarachero sound. SonicC manages to turn a bassline into Tropical/Carnival – this remix is an unexpected favourite of his for us– so different to all his other stuff, yet so on point.

49 The Partysquad – Pull Up
50 Shaun D – Mad Drumz
51 Mat Cant & Scattermish – Hornbo (Sticky K remix)

Pull Up and Shaun D’s “Mad Drumz” seem to fit so well together that we almost find it hard to listen to them separately anymore. Both tunes will make any other tune you mix with them sound hype. When added with all the horns of Stiky K’s “Hornbo” remix (a Scattermusic hit) is gets pretty ballistic.

52 Ku Bo – Sumanita Feat. Daniecell (Daniel Haaksman Remix)
53 Spencer And Hill – Cool (Afrojack Remix)
54 Laidback Luke, Diplo – Hey (Dre Skull Remix)
55 Tom Stephan – Turn That Shit Up (Diplo Remix)

“Cool”, arguably one of the biggest club tunes of 2009 is used here to subtle effect (if that’s possible) over Daniel Haaksman’s (who’s production keeps getting better) remix of Ku Bo. When Diplo’s “Turn That Shit Up” and Dre Skulls underrated “Hey” remix pop together it’s a sure thing that crowds start jumping again.

56 DJ Tameil – Back It Up And Dump It pt. 2
57 Busy Signal – Da Style Deh (Douster Dagga Remix)

Last time Douster’s “Dagga Remix” was played there was literally a wild brawl of daggering around the stage. DJ Tameil’s “Back It Up” makes it even more buck wild crazy.

58 Izé – Tronku Di Mundo
59 Malente & Dex – Gipsy Kings (feat. Analogik)
60 Major Lazer x Afrojack x Partysquad – Hold The Line (Douster Hold The Drop Edit)

The Izé tune is a tribute to the kinda Kuduro we get down to. A weird synth hook, those hectic, hypnotic Kuduro drums/rhythm and all of a sudden you’re in a trance. Then there’s a mix of Gipsy House flavours from Malente & Dex that sounds strange but sits right. Finishing off this section is the “Hold The Line” Douster remix which has been dropped at least 200 times by Scatterblog DJ’s in the past year. Thank you royalties (10% please Hugo)

61 Twist It! – Funky Monkey
62 Modeselektor – Turn Deaf
63 Karen O the Kids – Capsize
64 Berou and Canblaster – Terrance Hill (Club Cheval All-Stars Remix)

To move from party music to a musical outro is the ultra weird but ultra cool “Funky Monkey” by Twist It!. When the looped monkey noises and Modeselektor get going the mood has changed dramatically. Capsize, from Karen O’s amazing “Where The Wild Things Are OST” makes you feel like a little kid again. Then the blend of the Cheval All-Stars remix of Berou and Canblaster pulls everything back a bit club, taking us out on a smooth eclectic note.”

Mixin’ It Up: Adam Port

03 19 2010

Friday and you know what that means, another edition in our Mixin’ It Up series. Today we have a stunning mix courtesy of German techno/house producer/dj Adam Port. We know that you’re gonna enjoy this one so cut to the chase and hand it over to Adam:

“Techno’s biggest flaw is its self-referencial tendency. You know the deal, the common contemporary DJ/Producer steals an Underground Resistance-record from his older brother at the age of 16 (biographical details may vary, not to impair the facts, though), thus presuming to have found the holy grail (what, of course, nobody is claiming to deny). His world is shrinking down to Detroit, Chicago, New York and Berlin within the following years, he’ll equip himself with records and turntables and not look over the rim of his MKII ever again. Adam Ports biography is different. Adam was Hardcore, when he was 16. No, not Rotterdam-Hardcore. We’re talking New York-, Boston- and Washington D.C.-Hardcore here. It’s a past that he still lives up to, cultivating it in his vegetarian-straight-edge-lifestyle. After that there was HipHop. He got in touch with turntablism, discovered his love for vinyl and evolved to be a skilled DJ for the first time. Then, finally came Techno. This way of tracing down spaces, giving one the best possible chance of self-development, is the essential reason for Ports presence being so unique. There’s no scene-dictated tunnel view in his activities, there is only a pointed emphasis on style, on groove and sophistication. An emphasis, that, because it’s informed by Dub, Danchall, Rap, Soul or even Psychedelic Rock, is advanced enough to always shine through the inflationary characteristic of the genre as notably original. That applies to both, his productions and his DJ-sets. What Adam Port is laying his hands on might have its place within the parameters of House and Techno, but it’s always more than that. It’s his style.

1. Adam Port – The American Dream / Unreleased

It’s always like this. The last track that i made is always my favorite one. “The American Dream” is brand new and the name for it sent me a friend via Skype yesterday (Thanks Kathi!).

2. Dennis Ferrer & Jerome Sydenham – Timbuktu (Pan-African Electro Beats)

Great loopy, tribe sound!! No vocals, no bassline just pure kick and fills. Very hypnotic thing. Love it!

3. Mutant Clan – Taling Deep / Unreleased

A new joint of my homeboys Timo Maas & Santos aka Mutant Clan. Unreleased and hot! Heard it the first time in a dj set of Alex Dolby and it was like “WOWWWW!! Who made this one?!”. A wundefull groove.

4. Matthew Dear & Seth Troxler – Hurt (Martinez Dark Soul Remix)

The original was already huge but a little bit difficult to fit into my set. This remix is easier to handle but still dope!

5. Adam Port & Santé – Faire Des Siennes / Rockets & Ponies

Here’s one track that i made with my partner in crime Santé! It will be released in the next two months on Rockt & Ponies. Madddddnnneeesss!!

6. Deniz Kurtel – Yeah feat. Guest Of Nature (Original Mix)

Deniz Kurtel. A new girl on my techno radar. Played her remix for No Regular Play a lot and like also the new joint. The vocals are a sureshot!

7. Adam Port – No Pain / Keinemusik

No pain. No pain. No pain. No pain. No pain. No pain. No pain. No pain. No pain. No pain. No pain…. and i feel no pain.

8. MRI – Lipsy Fieber

This one is a track the &Me plays a lot and i always ask him: “Dude! Who is it?!” and he always answerded: “MRI !!!!”. Now i got it. Now i bought it!

9. Daniela Stickroth – Backtalk / Meeresfief

Dark techno thing! Feel it! Suported it a lot on facbook and twitter. Berghain sound inna house! Big up Daniela.”

Mixin’ It Up: Dubbel Dutch

02 04 2010

Mix number 100!

We’ve come a long way since those baby steps 3 years ago. For this mix, Dubbel Dutch who is certainly one of the most exciting producers out there at the moment rips it up with an all out awesome mix.

“Born and raised in New York I’m a DJ/producer now based in Austin, Texas. I’m kind of a dance music geek with aspirations to make music in just about every style, but for now I’m focused on the left-field sub bass heavy mutated funky sounds originating out of the U.K. For this mix I decided to incorporate a number of North American producers doing big things at the moment. You will also find that the beginning of the first song is placed at the end of the mix as it’s designed to be burned to CD and listened to continuously. Hoping that in 2010 club music boundaries will loosen up even further and DJs will continue to challenge the dance floor.”

4 Hero – Humans

This track sounds like it could be a recent Ikonika tune but it’s actually from 1998. Beautiful melodic synths and a “future garage” beat from the past. Parallels a lot of the sounds cycling around at the moment so I thought it would be a good palate cleanser.

HEALTH – DEATH+ [Darling Farah Mix]

Originally from Detroit, Darling Farah is an extremely talented young producer now living in the U.A.E. I’m really proud since I’ve watched him go from having no releases to this official remix for HEALTH. It starts out like any other Health song but lands out in that distinct Darling Farah deep minimal bass territory.

LOL Boys – Cloudy

Smooth and melodic dreamo-funky from the L.A./Montréal based LOL Boys. Overdramatic club music with pop sensibilities. Their new demo tracks are really good. Get ‘em while they’re hot.

VVV – Traverse

Fellow Austin-based producer VVV serves up infectious warped vocals over a sputtering garage beat. Overall it’s an incredible composition. MASSIVE earworm alert!

Esko – Shook

Shrill hip hop synths in this dark funky track make a nice transition into…

Egyptrixx – Everybody Bleeding

This song is just the tip of the iceberg for Toronto based Egyptrixx. His new material is really impressive. A cross between funky, trance, and deep techno. Watch out for the live P.A. coming to a city near you!

Rishi Romero / DJ Flava – Highly

Another transition tune with a really appropriate name by some dutch house dudes. The lead melodies are intense and ethereal. Something about this track grabs me, plus, I’m a huge sucker for ragga vocals.

Sam Tiba – Barbie Weed

Club Cheval member Sam Tiba wins the prize for hardest track to pidgeon hole. Marching drums, a distorted kick lead line, some Jamaican sounding sample, and chopped sirens. Banger.

Dubbel Dutch – Deep Underground

New track from me. Forthcoming w/ “Throwback” on Palms Out Sounds.

Wicked A – A Nie Dvamata S Bobi Piem Kafe [Ramadanman Refix]

Unintelligible vocal snippets and complex mutated funky percussion. Ramadanman is always ahead of the curve. Surprisingly he recently played one of my favorite bassline tunes when he rolled through Austin. I thought that was pretty awesome.

Pearson Sound – Wad [Dubbel Dutch Refix]

This is Ramadanman under an alias. Similar style to the song that comes before. I think I was listening to a lot of Cajmere on youtube and got inspired to edit it down into a classic house version.

NGUZUNGUZU – GOT U

Wasn’t going to leave you without your dose of heavy breathing for the day. Club music with really catchy vocals and hypnotic melodies from L.A.’s NGUZUNGUZU. This one’s off their new free ep – be sure to cop it if you haven’t yet and don’t forget to say ‘thank you’!

Baobinga & I.D. – Tongue Riddim [Dubbel Dutch Mix]

Bass music blog decided to give away some parts to this track. I’ve been playing the original and Roska remix to death and decided to take a stab at it. Tribal (Monterrey style) inspired off-kilter triplet rhythms within a dubstep-like beat.

Marcus Price – Var e Näääken [Bok Bok Mix]

Evolving 808 toms, deep pounding subs, and some creepy dragged vocals that seem to suggest things I can’t mention without blushing. Not even gonna try to classify. Envelope pushing at its best.

Distal – Grape Donut

Atlanta based Distal has some of the cleanest productions around. The track title reminds me of the pics on the Highness blog. Baile funk rhythms, playful RnB sounding synths, and vocoded vocals.

Mixin’ It Up: Braiden

12 18 2009

braidenmixinitupsmall

Last Mixin’ It Up of 2009 and we’re definetely going out with a bang with this one. We’re honoured to present the extremely talented Braiden of Rinse FM fame who gives you a soundtrack for the Christmas holiday. Braiden ranks up there with the top underground DJs in London at the moment. Don’t sleep.

“About me, well, I am deathly passionate about the whole art of DJing. I really put all my energy into doing my studio mixes and hopefully that shows. I’ve been playing on the London pirate station Rinse FM since 2007, originally making a name for myself by playing dubstep. These days I find myself playing less of that sound and my selection seems to get more varied by the week, though I find it very important to find a flow and cohesion between the genres that I play in a mix. I’ve always approaching DJing as a form of music creation in itself, using the tracks as tools to build a new sound rather than simply playing some tracks i like… though thats important as well of course. I’m honoured to have been chosen to participate in the Red Bull Music Academy in 2010 amongst some very talented names.

I found this picture of an absurd technicolour utopia on a Jehova’s Witness pamphlet in a changing room in South London and it reflects this mix better than any picture of my face could. I’ve put together a varied mix of electro, techno, grime, and whatever you want to call this 130bpm uk bass music. Some old, some new, some unreleased, mixed with decks and Serato, clocking in at just over 35 minutes. It’s unlikely you’d see me play such a wide range of genres and tempos within half an hour in a club scenario, but that’s the beauty of studio mixes.

I play on www.rinse.fm and my show is every other Tuesday 1-3pm at the moment. Keep up to date with my mixes, radio shows and other doings via these sites below:

Aphex Twin – Windowlicker [Run Jeremy edit]

My friend said to me “so I was listening to Windowlicker the other day and just stopped and thought about what it was that I was listening to”. He had a point. Listen to those sounds. A unique and timeless piece by that weirdo Richard D James.

Deadboy – Ifuwantme

Big one by the man DEADBOY. Morbid name; life affirming melodies. One of the most Asked About tunes that I’ve played recently; usually via “oi wots that tune you play that sounds like that kode9 tune”. Yes he wears his influences on his sleeve here but they are good influences and it’s a great standout tune. 2010 your time db.

Japanese Telecom – Japanese Animation

Quick mix into this funk analog electro masterpiece by one half of Drexciya. I have an unwavering love for this kind of sound always have. Serato loop to set up a melodic blend into….

Little Jinder – Youth Blood [Bok Bok remix]

A brilliant piece of work by my man Bok Bok. Stand out track for me on his Night Slugs 2009 dubplate mix. Love the disco vibes and the vocodered vocals. Very good as a remix and a track in its own right. I could go on.

Mark Henning – Sick Note

Ok. Lets get movin. Here’s where we step up the pace a bit. British techno expat (guess where he moved to) Mark Henning delivers a pacey groove laden number which delights my ears and mind. Everything works together in rhythmic cohesion.

Greena – Actual Pain

Greena!!! Go buy this track now it just came out on Apple Pips records. Tight production, gives an almost staccato yet very fluid feel. Also goes well with the techno track before it to add some syncopation to the proceedings.

Alden Tyrell – Disco Lunar Module

A driving epic piece of electro by my Dutch mate Alden. He’s not my mate at all actually I’ve never met him. I don’t even know what he looks like. But his music resonates with me to such an extent that I think we could get on well enough to hold a conversation for as long as it takes to drink half a pint of Heineken.

Major Lazer – Pon De Floor

One of my favourite blends on this mix i think. An unlikely pairing but that swooping synth suddenly sounds so epic with ol’ Aldens bassline behind it. Brilliantly done track by itself anyhow, there’s a reason this track was so big this year.

Housemeister – Rambo

Housemeister what a joker. This track is a gem. Snares coming at you from all angles which gel with that stabbing bassline. I would say “funky on crack” if I said those sort of things but I don’t so I won’t and I didn’t. Had to edit it and add a bit of sub to it, the original is criminally subless, the tune’s crying out for it

Martin Kemp – No Charisma

Still lovin this track by Martin Kemp on the Blunted Robots label. Swooping rhythmic synths and percussion is particularly on point. Keep an eye on this guy in 2010!

L-Vis 1990 – Untitled

Lush is the word!! Big lush melodic beatless section breaks down into a tight groove with skillfully manipulated vocals. Beautiful piece by L-Vis. Sly ramping up of tempo here, tracks like this keep me playing 140bpm.

Pangaea – Sunset Yellow

Pangaea’s EP coming out on Hessle Audio has some amazing music on it quite simply. Synth work on this is great, a mutating and haunting piece. Takes the mix on a dark one to set up the listener for some of this (via a little teasing loop):

Dizzee – Stop Dat

Back when Dizzee was a true artist through and through. In his prime easily one of the best MCs grime ever saw. And the production! Raw and energetic, all about the bass stabs on this. And the cat sample. I think its a cat.

Crystal Fighters – I Love London [Brackles remix]

I love mixing vocals like this. Straight into this one by my good man Brackles, picks up the pace even further, immaculate stuff.

Ruff Sqwad – RSMD

I wasn’t even going to draw for another track but got an itchy finger at the last second and went for the double drop. Andy C was the first DJ I was influenced by and it shows sometimes. Solid track by one of my favourite crews to come out of scene

Mixin’ It Up: DJ Cable

11 19 2009

This time we travel to Essex for the next chapter in the Mixin’ It Up tale.

I’m DJ Cable, from Essex, UK. I’m one of the 2008 & 2009 DMC UK Team Champions – “Bionic Stylus” – the 2008 Alizé Remixed Champion, and most recently, the Vice Magazine x Grolsch Block Party Mix Champion. Competitions aside, I make electronic music, and also do the whole club thing. I’d describe my style as a cross-genre mashup between Hip Hop & bass-heavy club music, throwing in some turntablism along the way.

My mix is a selection of Dubstep & Grime tracks (both old and new) that I’m into at the moment, accompanied with a tiny bit of scratching here and there; Nothing too intricate though, as I wanted the tunes to speak for themselves. I hope you all enjoy the mix :)

Lastly..if you’re ever in the Norwich area, I’m a resident for a monthly club night called “POW!”, which focuses on everything from Electro, to Dubstep, Bmore, Grime, UK Garage, Hip Hop, House, and more…It’s essentially a house party in a club; a nice friendly vibe. There’s also loads of cheap booze too, some come down and party with us!

Tracklisting:

01. MRK1 – Kill Zone

Thought I’d kick things off with something rowdy. I love how it starts off with a cheeky Twilight Zone sample, and then suddenly smacks you in the face with that first drop. Skank out!

02. Skream – Burning Up

Heavy Jungle vibes from Skream. Dude is on fire right now!

03. Sukh Knight – Beneath Your Blouse

One of my favourite tunes from the Cheeze Loueez EP. True Tiger always come correct.

04. Benny Page & Zero G – Trigger Finger

Such a huge bassline on this track. Time to bruk out.

05. Rossi B & Luca Feat. Gully Gang – Music Money

Switching things up with a bit of Grime. This one’s a nice little posse cut from Rossi B & Luca, who make some great beats. They’re also sick DJs too. Angry MCs and a warping bass is a winning combination..

06. Jakes & Joker – 3kLane

I never get bored of this record. Two Dubstep bangers fused together into one heavy hitter = WIN. Bristol stand up!

07. Tempa T – Boy Off Da Ting

Easily the most hype MC out there right now. ‘Next Hype’ was THE Grime anthem for this year, and Tempz has nicely followed it up with this monster of a tune. I can’t wait until his album drops. Big.

08. Benga & Coki – Night

Classic banger. Enough said.

09. LD – The King of Kong

I love the whole tribal sound on this record. The animal noises make it sound like you’re going on some mad Dubstep night safari…I threw this in the mix to ease it down a little before going back into some jump up tunes.

10. Noah D – Seeeriousss

I’m a massive fan of Noah D’s music. Not only does he make really good D&B, he also puts out some quality Dubstep records too. Pretty laid back, but also quite hype at the same time. Wicked tune.

11. Flux Pavilion – Fucking Noise

A great slice of rowdy jump-up Dubstep. This tune makes me want to jump around like a crazy person in my living room.

12. Excision – Swagga

To put it simply, this tune is super filthy! This has been killing it every time I’ve dropped it in the club. That bassline is too much…

13. Joker – Purple City

Joker is my favourite producer right now. I love his sound! It’s like Crunk-meets-Grime-meets-Dubstep-meets-G Funk. This is a serious head-nodder.

14. Grand Puba – Get It (12th Planet Remix)

One of my favourite tracks from the Dubstep LA mixtape. Fast-paced, and full of energy. I also threw in a simple juggle halfway through to make things interesting.

15. Simian Mobile Disco – Cruel Intentions (Joker Remix)

In one word…Amazing…2010 is the year of the Joker.

16. Caspa – Marmite (Cable VIP Re-edit)

A cheeky little re-edit/bootleg of Caspa’s track from yours truly. I re-sequenced the beat into a booty bass/2-step vibe. A nice tool to use to switch up into Grime, UK Garage, or another genre.

17. Dizzee Rascal – I Luv U

Thought I’d finish the mix with some classic Dizzee. This joint got into Grime music after hearing it on one of those UK Garage Tape packs back in the day…I love the rawness of this tune. Reminds me of the good old days back at University.

Bangkok (Roska remix)

11 10 2009

310074290_8c6e70b050

Hamburg based producer Boris Dlugosch just unleashed the absolutely huge “Bangkok” single on the Erol Alkan owned Phantasy Sound label, we posted the video a few days ago and then our Swedish brethren in Pom Pom used the even bigger Roska remix for their fantastic edition of our Mixin’ It Up series. This of course meant that we somehow had to find a way to give the remix to our faithful readers and thanks to Darling Department here it is…

Boris Dlugosch – Bangkok (Roska remix) (128 kbps, Sendspace)

Mixin’ It Up: Pom Pom

11 05 2009

pompom_whitetee

This time we travel to Stockholm and the duo Pom Pom for our Mixin’ It Up. They been dominating Stockholm’s night life for years and now you get to feel the flavour of Stefski and Agge’s party vibe.

If you are in Malmö this Saturday. Be sure to join us at ,The Rumble for a night of Pom Pom magic!

Download Pom Pom – November Reign (zshare)

Bonus: Check out the video for Busy Signal – Picante (Stefski Remix) here.

01. Pom Pom – Intro

02. Little Lenny – No Sound Can’t Test We
Tells it like it is. Let’s go!

03. DJ Ganyani – Limpompo Funk
We wanted this mix to be housey with plenty of elements to keep you listening all day. Some of the best house stuff out seems to come from South Africa so we packed a couple of SA house gems in here, like DJ Ganyani and this big room track of his. Video’s super fresh too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x87ycW7iJuQ

04. DJ Gakwa – Terminator Return
Another guy from South Africa, on the Afrotainment label (good label). Stripped down production, disoriented funky sounds. We need (more of) these songs.

05. DJ Gregory & Gregory Salto – Con Alegria (Solo ‘More Cowebell’ Remix)
Last summer’s anthem. This is the sort of record that had us thinking we should probably shave our backs, start spinning on CDJs and charge three times the money. Needless to say we’re still cheap and hairy…

06. Boris Dlugosh – Bangkok (Roska Remix)
…To hammer home that point here’s this dope Roska Remix out on Phantasy. We like the original but this is such a scorcher! The way it combines UK funky beats with the original’s ravier sounds, not for the weak at heart or hips.

07. Tzoz En Proffessor – Mantombanzane (Club Remix)
Back to South Africa. We’ve played this for over a year and it still sounds like the track of the week. Thought it fitted this mix so well we couldn’t do without it – love the female choirs here.

08. Kool DJ Dust – Human Beings
The original thriftmeister DJ Dust has been putting big spending record buyers to shame with his label-covered finds of Swedish Indie /Italo /Noise for as long as we can remember. Here’s our keeper from his Ancient Astronauts 12” on local label Feed. Pounding discoid electronics – the least common denominator of dudes everywhere.

09. Traxmen – It’s House (Paul Johnson Remix)
OK, we needed to put some House music on here as well, Dust’s track sort of called for it. Paul Johnson comes hard here with this track. It’s House, nuff said.

10. D.J. #1 – Test (Get Up)
This is actually a DJ Funk record, released on Dance Mania in -94, like a year before the previous track with, pretty much the same vibe. Just throwing another bone at you.

11. Criminal House – Rhythm Talk (Bad Boy Bill Mix)
Early Dance Mania now, out in -89 which you might have guessed from the synth stabs and the way you feel an urge to live in a field. Nice vocal sample to work up the vibe for what’s next.

12. Drop The Lime – Set Me Free (Lil Silva Remix)
New Trouble & Bass. Dudes are really back at it again with this release. The Little Jinder is out any day (peep the Bok Bok remix when it drops!). The combo of funky drums and classic vocal house sample on the Lil Silva remix just kills it here.

13. Hot City – Sweat
UK garage 2.0: the classic bassline sound, the vocal sample and the beat… familiar somehow but tweaked just the right way make it feel very up to the time. Guess we could say “Hot City is hottt!” when we fill in the feedback form.

14. Joy Orbison – BRKLN CLLN
Well, everyone should know about this guy by now as his release prior to this is one of the most hyped up in 2009. He stays in style on this track, super smooth!

15. KrY$tAL LeOnn’ – Son Dédicasses (Instrumental)
Coupé decalé evolved… Krystal LeOnn’ is a 19 year old multi-instrumentalist which we got hooked on surfing Skyrock. Part of the Towess collective, Krystal is a beat producer set for bigger things than the 400 plays we caught this at. This is the dancing styled “instru” version and it slays. Can’t wait to hear more from these guys.

16. DJ Zinc + Benga feat Sweetie Irie – Number 1 Girls
The Super Sharp Shooter man’s new “Crack House” EP is solid and this is the track with the most dancehall feel to it. Loving the bassline.

17. Artwork – Rank
To be honest, we weren’t really big dubstep fans back in 2002 when Big Apple started releasing their groundbreaking music but when you listen to it today you can tell they were doing stuff that would last. This is off the first release on the label and it’s just a huge tune!

18. Gucci Vump – Sha! Shtil! (L-Vis 1990 Remix VIP)
L-Vis 1990 ftw! His VIP remix is not on the original “Sha! Shtil!” EP but beats all the others on that. This is some super deep stuff, perhaps too dark for most dance floors but perfect for a mix. As usual L-Vis is one step ahead. So is Discobelle who just posted this. Rats!

19. Stefski – Shai Track VIP
A Stefski exclusive heard here for the first time outside of a club situation. Thought this was a good way of saying thanks and see you soon again!
