BLACKSTREET – NO DIGGITY (THE KID REMIX)

01 20 2012

I can never turn down a creative spin on a classic. My good buddy Kyle aka The KiD over @ Mad Decent just put out this bootleg remix of everyones favorite 90s anthem “No Diggity” all male R&B/Hip Hop group Blackstreet. Accompanied by an uptempo backbone and a DJ breakdown to the original verse, this version is a must for your party sets. I’ve also included his recent original tune sampling Gwen Stefani, and a cool edit of Michael Jackson’s ‘Baby Be Mine.’ Get your weekend groove started kids.

Mad Decent Launches Jeffree’s

12 02 2011

In their never ending effort to shove music forward, Mad Decent have launched a new sub-label called Jeffree’s and Diplo seems pretty excited about it:

“Our new extension of Mad Decent, Jeffrees, is the best new music—the most progessive, the most amazing. The deepest underground and subterranean sounds from the Earth’s crust; the best sounds available and it’s free. It’s what Mad Decent was originally made for new artists thinking outside of the box.”

It’s as cool as it sounds. Every other Thursday, Jeffree’s will showcase innovative producers by way of free singles. Awesome. The first release came out yesterday from Canadian duo Expendable Youth and future releases from Douster, Zebra Katz, Etc! Etc!, Sticky K and more are already on the docket. Grab a couple of the “Heyo!” versions below, additional remixes by Javier Estrada and Astronomar here, and be sure to check out their Bizzies Mix from June 2010 if you haven’t already.

Crookers – Hummus (Botnek Remix)

11 21 2011

Our good friends Botnek were kind enough to send over a preview of their newest remix they did of the Crooker’s track “Hummus” that came out today on Mad Decent/ Southern Fried records. Let me tell you one thing, this remix is huge. I highly suggest you check it out. It really shows how talented this up and coming production duo is.

Do not forget to check out the rest of the remixes from the EP over on beatport

NT89 – Payne EP

11 09 2011

If the rapidly rising Italian producer, NT89, isn’t on your radar just yet, it will be after you soak in his latest release out on Bad Life Records, Payne EP. Deep, dark, and grungy are the first adjectives that come to mind after listening to the 3 track EP, complete with two originals and a remix from Bang Gang/Mad Decent rep, Obi Blanche. Already picking up hype from Mumbai Science, Bobmo, Paul Chambers, and more, I’m pretty sure we might even witness the big guns like Tiga and Erol playing out this Future Techno masterpiece known as Payne. Pick it up on Beatport now.
