More deluxe Dark Dance tunes courtesy of Melbourne’s P.C.P. (Luke Brown). Earlier on in the year we posted both his track ‘Piza‘ and the fantastic ethnographically confused ‘Shebeen Mix‘.
P.C.P. will also debut his live show alongside Miles Brown from the Nighterrors, Matthew Brown, Morgan (WORNG, The Emergency) and a few others for a late night music series happening on the 21st of January, 2012. More details yet to come.

‘Heat-beat’ band, NO ZU take over the Grace Darling every Thursday in November for a wild ‘resiDANCEy’ of percussive meltdowns and cosmic-suburbia-rhythms.
Themed nights of life ceremonies/events (Carnival, Wedding, Birthday, Holiday) will be taken from the every-day into the realms of the exotic via eclectic line-ups of many of Melbourne’s most unique bands/artists and by weekly visual transformations of the Grace’s upstairs band room. Finally, the often-separate emotions felt on New Years Eve and at Tupperware parties will meet!
NO ZU’s ever expanding line-up of permanent/non-permanent performers will continue with varying line-ups each week keeping the beat alive, turning the beat around and tempting everything to spill over into a Gloria Estefan mega-mix (don’t worry, this is unlikely).
+ Plenty more possibly gaudy, possibly special treats are in store – Enough to put Preston Market to shame.

I’m so glad Melbourne is starting to step up with the Dark Dance, what with this and fucking amazing two piece, Forces.
Local, indie singer/songwriter Jasper Sloan Yip made a video… a really awkward one too. Jasper is in The Peak Performance Project’s top 20 artists this year. The Peak PP is a yearly competition put on by 100.5 The Peak with over 100k at stake; that’s a lot of scrillz.
Why do we want him to win? To see how awkward his “thank you” speech is on stage.

Jasper Sloan Yip – Blue Jar Waltz (live on CBC)
It’s hard to master the voice of “Punk”, but Ryan Dyck bleeds through his heart on stage; straight up. Seeing B-Lines play at Khatsalano Music Fest turned me to fandom right away.. Kenny, from White Lung, shares: “they’re one of the best punk bands in Vancouver right now”; I was wrongly skeptical. Enjoy this free track from their new album also available on Vinyl.
