    “Rise” isn’t an instant dance-floor filler, but it hosts one of the filthiest breakdowns I’ve ever heard pour out of XXXChange’s laptop.

    Upon first listen, it’s obvious that “Walk Tall” sounds an awful lot like Peaches. “Fuck The Pain Away” comes to mind on more than one occasion. Sounding like Peaches isn’t a bad thing per se, but in the case of “Walk Tall”? It just comes off as corny.

The single was produced by href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/prettymuchamazing/~3/tunes/rusko">Rusko and frequent M.I.A collaborator and signee href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/prettymuchamazing/~3/tunes/blaqstarr">Blaqstarr.

    M.I.A.’s trusty href="http://neetrecordings.com/blog/" >NEET Records blog has posted Blaqstarr’s original demo of “XXXO”. Now we know what “XXXO” sounded like before Rusko came in and smoothed it out and added overpowering electro-pop elements. Blaqstarr’s version does not stray too far from the aesthetic M.I.A. has built with her first two albums. Some might call it safe, but I think that the fact that M.I.A. is mostly singing is change enough. The album version, featuring additional production work from Rusko, sounds like a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/prettymuchamazing/~3/tunes/robyn">Robyn track.     Well look-y here, two very awesome 7″ singles happen to have dropped on my lap today. The first one comes from Jack White’s rock superhero group The Dead Weather, whose new album Sea of Cowards was released on Tuesday. Cowards, to be frank, is the perfect marriage of Blues and high-octane garage rock and it’s just what the doctor ordered. Today we’re giving away a 7″ vinyl “Die By The Drop” vinyl, along with the album on CD and mask/poster/sticker combo.     The Drums – “It Will All End In Tears”

    Brooklyn’s The Drums are giving away another track from their hotly tipped self-titled, debut album, due out June 8th on Island Records. “It Will All End In Tears” sounds a bit too melancholy for a surf indie pop, but something tells me that this song will get a lot of beach air-time.     Let me get this straight — the soundtrack for the third Twilight movie Eclipse features new music from Muse, Vampire Weekend, Sia, The Dead Weather, Metric, and even features a duet from Beck and Bat For Lashes? Would would be even more interesting is to see a chart that depicts what percentage of Twilight fans even appreciate the magnitude of epic the Twilight Saga franchise/Alex Patsavas puts into their soundtracks.     It’s been almost an entire year since we first talked about Florence + The Machine and the ethereal pop sensibilities powerfully showcased in “Cosmic Love”, that possibly rival Bat For Lashes. Since then, Florence Welsh wowed us with her beautiful debut Lungs. And so, it gives me great satisfaction that Florence decided to go back to the song that first captured me, “Cosmic Love,” after all of her success. (Read More to WATCH)

    Janelle Monae’s new album, The ArchAndroid, is her first in 7 years, and the first featuring Janelle’s imitable brand of dance-punk neosoul. It’s currently slated for a May 18th release date. Upon reviewing the album’s tracklist, my eyes dart to one collaboration — not one featuring Big Boi or Saul Williams, but “Make The Bus” featuring Georgia’s fantastically zany of Montreal.

    While at first glance, it would seem that Janelle Monae and of Montreal are on completely different wavelengths, I don’t think there has ever been two artists meant to work together the way Janelle Monae and Of Montreal’s Kevin Barnes are. However, that is a notion that has been quite popular lately — Pop&B queen Beyonce and her sister Solange have both expressed a desire to work with of Montreal.

I thing about music videos not living up to their aural counter parts, in terms of quality, but there is absolutely nothing to worry about with National’s clip for their Violet lead single “Bloodbuzz Ohio”.     The ever trusty BBC Radio 1 premiered a brand new M.I.A. track today called “XXXO” and the even trustier interwebs had a audio files of the radio rip floating around within minutes. “XXXO” is the third song we’ve heard that will appear on M.I.A.’s forthcoming, still untitled third album, due out June 22; and it sounds like something I’d expect to hear on an upcoming Robyn album.
