Bloc Party frontman Kele has posted two more new songs from his forthcoming solo album, The Boxer. Like “ href="http://prettymuchamazing.com/music/listen/kele-of-bloc-party-tenderoni" >Tenderoni” before them, these XXXChange-produced tunes are electropop of the dirtiest caliber.

“Rise” isn’t an instant dance-floor filler, but it hosts one of the filthiest breakdowns I’ve ever heard pour out of XXXChange’s laptop.

Upon first listen, it’s obvious that “Walk Tall” sounds an awful lot like Peaches. “Fuck The Pain Away” comes to mind on more than one occasion. Sounding like Peaches isn’t a bad thing per se, but in the case of “Walk Tall”? It just comes off as corny.

M.I.A.’s trusty href="http://neetrecordings.com/blog/" >NEET Records blog has posted Blaqstarr’s original demo of “XXXO”. Now we know what “XXXO” sounded like before Rusko came in and smoothed it out and added overpowering electro-pop elements. Blaqstarr’s version does not stray too far from the aesthetic M.I.A. has built with her first two albums. Some might call it safe, but I think that the fact that M.I.A. is mostly singing is change enough. The album version, featuring additional production work from Rusko, sounds like a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/prettymuchamazing/~3/tunes/robyn">Robyn track. There’s nothing wrong with sounding like Robyn, but why would you imitate another lady’s style when your own style is imitable enough? Listen to Blaqstarr’s version below: id="more-18757">

PMA Premiere: Local Natives – “Wide Eyes” (Suckers Remix)

Suckers’ long waited debut album, Wild Smile is out June 8 on Frenchkiss. To promote their upcoming LP, the band has embarked on a month-long tour with labelmates Local Natives. The Drums – “It Will All End In Tears”

Brooklyn’s The Drums are giving away another track from their hotly tipped self-titled, debut album, due out June 8th on Island Records. “It Will All End In Tears” sounds a bit too melancholy for a surf indie pop, but something tells me that this song will get a lot of beach air-time. Let me get this straight — the soundtrack for the third Twilight movie Eclipse features new music from Muse, Vampire Weekend, Sia, The Dead Weather, Metric, and even features a duet from Beck and Bat For Lashes? Would would be even more interesting is to see a chart that depicts what percentage of Twilight fans even appreciate the magnitude of epic the Twilight Saga franchise/Alex Patsavas puts into their soundtracks. It’s been almost an entire year since we first talked about Florence + The Machine and the ethereal pop sensibilities powerfully showcased in “Cosmic Love”, that possibly rival Bat For Lashes. Since then, Florence Welsh wowed us with her beautiful debut Lungs.
