As you may or may not know, I can be a pretty big fan of cheesy house music. Needless to say, this Larry Tee + Per QX remix of Erika Jane pretty much fits that bill to a (pun alert) “T”. This Billboard Top 20 jam comes in both original and instrumental form, both of which having an infectious Chuckie-like synth howling about. I’m guessing most of you will vibe more with the instrumental… I dig the vocals though. No big deal.

Dans le genre post laissé en friche, celui-là est pas mal. Je l’avais commencé en mode Lost track from my HDD mais finalement l’intéressé ne veut pas trop le faire tourner donc ça restera éternellement dans mon disque dur, même s’il y a une version plus tech en duo avec Wongo.

Tout a commencé lorsque je suis tombé sur la hyves de Jeff Doubleu et la première version de Back Again : tout ce que je trouvais de plus gratiné à l’époque. Lors des sets du crew, quand moi ou Oké voulions envoyer la sauce, c’était notre morceau fétiche. Depuis, beaucoup d’eau a coulé sous le pont. De nombreux labels s’y sont intéressés : Crux, Satan’s Circus, DubNoir… Jeff Doubleu a eu le temps de produire d’autres morceaux, de mûrir son style. En clair, Jeffy est passé à autre chose.

L’actualité de Jeff Doubleu est plus que chargée. Il a récemment produit le maxi de Skitzofrenix sorti chez Sneakerz Music dont je recommande en particulier Hype & Funk. Ses maxis arrivent au fur et à mesure : Foxy Jazz déjà disponible sur Djs Are Not Rockstars. Enfin, il signe définitivement chez Jack Union : un maxi sous un autre alter ego, Jefferson en duo avec Hijack et un deuxième maxi fraîchement terminé sont déjà sur les rails. Pas mal de remix ça et là et deux récents à ajouter sur la liste d’attente : Campbell sur Baboo Records et Eats Everything en duo avec Tom EQ sur Wearhouse Music. D’autre part, Jeff Doubleu prépare une tournée australienne cet été : il sera à Brisbane du 14 juin au 26 juillet. Organisateurs de nouba locale, vous savez ce qu’il vous reste à faire !
