Lady Gaga’s latest video – her first undertaking of full directorial duty – is enthralling and time consuming, to say the least. The semi-autobiographical clip (I believe it’s more fact than fiction) runs nearly 14 minutes long. During this time, Gaga slowly makes us understand why she is today’s foremost, quintessential pop star.

If you’re the son of a music professor at Oxford University, you’re likely to end up trying to break some boundaries. Orlando, the last-nameless young musician who makes genre-busting songs as Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (you can just spell out TEED if it’s easier), crafts his intricate, throbbing, lovably strange dance music as just that, dance music, free of pretentious microgenre posturing – probably not what his classically-inclined dad expected, and probably not what you expect from new electronic and dance acts who endeavor to fit their music into a tiny and highly specified niche.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs was one of my favorite acts this year at Hard Haunted Mansion here in Los Angeles. His highly acclaimed productions and unprecedented performance techniques converge to create an experience that really can’t be matched, and I was thoroughly impressed as usual as I saw him do his dinosaur thang. Yesterday, I saw that Orlando posted a new remix to his SoundCloud, and to be honest, I didn’t know what to expect when I saw that it was for Lady Gaga‘s ‘Marry The Night.’ After listening to it for about the 10th time since yesterday, I thought it might be good to share with you good folks. Keep an eye out for the release on December 6th. √++

Lady Gaga has announced a new remix album, due out November 21, called Born This Way: The Remix. The 15-track remix album will include cuts from studio luminaries like Foster The People, The Weeknd, Goldfrapp, Two Door Cinema, Royksopp and The Horrors. We’ve already heard two tracks from the albums, Twin Shadow’s remix of “Born This Way” and Wild Beasts’ remix of “Yoü and I”.
