La Roux, the original blog-siren is back with a ‘sexier’ album set for May.
The fair-haired quiffster behind internet hits “Bulletproof” and “In For The Kill” will follow up her self-titled effort from way back in 2009.
Elly Jackson says: “A lot of music that’s quite sexual is aggressive, but the music itself doesn’t sound sexy – it’s more people shouting, ‘Look at my bum! Look!’ I’m not turned on by it, I’m terrified.” But she has promised that the album will be, “a lot cheekier”.
All of this excites us, at the same time scarying us, not to mention confusing us… let’s hope it’s good right?
Some 18 months ago, we wrote about an explosive new talent by the name of Yadi and her unspeakably massive debut offering, "Guillotine", a track already approaching the heights of La Roux and Marina even in demo form. A long winter and cruel summer of silence out of the Yadi camp has passed in the time since, but at long last she's back with her debut single proper, plunging into the desert cold with "Sahara Heart". Picking up where the epic choruses and primal beats of "Guillotine" left off, it's an immense comeback single that snarls with a visceral shock-and-awe ferocity to be reckoned with, firmly establishing her as the next great hope for empowered female pop in the UK. The Yadi ship is about to set sail in a big way, and you can consider us fully on board. Next stop: the stars.

El pato está de regreso! Después de escuchar Barbra Streisand hasta en los 40 principales, A-Track y Armand Van Helden le hacen un remix a la colaboración de Chromeo y La Roux, “Hot Mess”.
Not much really needs to be said about a collaboration between Chromeo & Elly Jackson (La Roux) that gets remixed by Duck Sauce. It's like being dealt Aces over Kings...the Full House pretty much speaks for itself.
Duck Sauce beef up the beat of the original and zone in on Jackson's signature vocals to serve up the first monster jam of 2011.
