It's the Supersound

The second release on Designer Drugs’ label, Sex Cult Records, comes from the bearded man from Brooklyn, Cerebral Vortex, and as you would expect from the grindhouse DD boys, it’s inundated with tons o’ electro crunch. The release features a happy meal of remixes including Designer Drugs, Cyberpunkers, Jesse Jamz, Tom Deluxx, and Alvin Risk. Here’s a couple of ‘em.

So I may or may not be in a weird mood for music, it might be because I’m dead tired. I kind of chose these tracks because they came off slightly weird to me. First track is the Glasnost remix of The Ting Tings. For some reason this track reminds me of old school Bag Raiders, I like that! Second track is one of the weird ones, the Vitalic remix of Amadou & Mariam Sabali. And no, not because it’s not English, just a surprising mix of genres of music which wiki shows as Malian music and worldbeat? I’m not even talking about the remix either, check out the original, it’s pretty damn awesome. The remix compliments the track very well. And lastly, the Jesse Jamz remix of Cerebral Vortex which if I had to describe the track in one word; Eurobeat. It’s not even an accurate description, but that’s the best you’re getting.
