Updated with free MP3.
A while ago, James Murphy‘s legendary DFA Records―home to his own LCD Soundsystem―began White Out Sessions, where they play a new track on vinyl in the DFA office, starting with disco aficionados Holy Ghost!’s “Wait And See” from their forthcoming debut album. The label has now posted the second session, premiering a new track from dance rock duo YACHT called “Dystopia (The Earth Is On Fire).” The song is one of their more dance friendlier tunes, with a friendly disco backdrop and enough synths to set the earth on fire. YACHT have a new album coming out, more details about it to come soon. Download “Dystopia” below:

I’ve always said that DFA Records is the best music label. There are plenty of posts scattered around this blog regarding DFA. DFA is the center of dance punk music with a great roster of bands, the most popular one being LCD Soundystem. James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem started DFA with Tim Goldsworthy, who among many other things, produced Cut Copy’s amazing sophomore album, In Ghost Colours. In my opinion, Tim Goldsworthy is the stronger talent of the two. He’s also my really good friend’s brother in law and a really nice guy.
DFA released a collection of their top 2010 artists/songs and some are phenomenal. Two of my favorite below. I have to say though, that I don’t think this music is for everyone, but it’s worth a listen and I think pretty amazing. They have long build ups so you have to listen for a while. The songs remind me of the DFA dance parties down at Studio B in Greenpoint, Brooklyn that we used to go to many years ago. Those were fun times.
