Bizzies 2.0

08 17 2011

Hello and welcome to Bizzies 2.0! As we close the door on Hot Biscuits (RIP), please take a moment to check out a few of the things we’ve changed in our transition:

Our URL: So please, update your blog rolls (and RSS feeds)
Comments: They are gone
Sharing: The addition of Twitter and Facebook buttons make sharing tunes effortless
Navigation: By moving friends and links to our About page, and consolidating the remaining items into an accordion, our side bar is now super clean while still maintaining a high level of accessibility

Known issues:

• “Popular widget” PHP error line on the bottom of some pages (working on it)
• Side bar flashes as “open” on page load (working on it)
TypeKit fonts temporarily disable (and then re-enable themselves on refresh) (working on it)
• Font colors and random embed/ audio player code errors from several years back (working on it)
• We lost all of our “retweets” and “liked” numbers (nothing we can do about it)

If you notice any other issues, please leave us feedback here.

Aside from that, I’d also like to extend a very plus sized thank you to Sir Adan Altamira, as he was the sole developer behind this project. He’s been putting up with my shit and fixing my coding errors for several months now and for that, I owe him the largest palette of classic Four Loko that a civilian can buy.

Finally, as an ode to one of the first mp3′s I posted on Hot Biscuits (way back on July 13, 2007), I present you with “Chase The Sun” by Planet Funk. It’s a track that I heard on my first “club night” as a 21 year old here in Chicago. It was played by Victor R at Moda Nightclub (haha).

Planet Funk – Chase The Sun

Thank you and enjoy the new site!

The best thing I’ve seen all year, courtesy of Free Magic. They’re pretty steamy, yeah.

Haute and Bothered

08 23 2010

I should probably start by apologizing. Not on the basis of not doing (ya that's right a double negative get with it) a weekly post of hip nu bangers, but for failing to catalog my recent endeavors into genres anew. A few weeks ago, bossman Jonah got at me to do a minimix for our good friends over at Hot Biscuits. I obliged (duh), and clearly wanted to do 20 1-minute long build-ups of super sick dutch car alarms that I zippyshared from the interweb...not. Actually, I wanted to do the opposite of that, and I think something along those lines was birthed. Go over to Hot Bizzies to download the other two mixes from fellow bros Tron Jeremy and Bones. And if you live in Miami and want to get down to get up, then the good people at OVERTHROW are throwing me a party Saturday at Cafeina because they were so hypnotized by the futuristic blips on said mix, so come show your pretty little face (directed to cute entry level girls looking to climb that infallible ladder of social hierarchy). One last thing, go buy Skream's album 'Outside the Box' and Arcade Fire's 'The Suburbs' because collectively they're better to anything you've been listening to all summer. Have fun back in school kids.
