Smash TV – Made for Eachother (Smash TV Backdoor Dub)

01 23 2012

Get Physical signed Smash TV take us on a tight journey through a dubbed tech house version of his EP’s main song ‘Made for eachother’.

This song comes with a style of off centre rhythm that Get Physical have made their own. With a strangely cool drum pattern and some deep deeeeeeep vocals with added distortion, this make for chilled enjoyment!

Steroids to Heaven (The Remixes)

01 21 2012

Smash TV‘s EP, Steroids to Heaven was nothing short of phenomenal and it comes as no surprise that the remixes are brilliant as well. Pol_On, Kiki, and Hector all rework Steroids to Heaven, with each artist adding their own unique stylistic approach to the already incredible original EP. I’m particularly digging Smash TV’s rework of Made for Eachother.

M.A.N.D.Y vs Booka Shade – Home (November Edit)

12 06 2011

Two of my favorites have come together once again to create yet another masterpiece. When these Berliners converge in the studio to collaborate, it seems as if they can’t help but make magic happen. Founders of the famed Get Physical imprint, Booka Shade and M.A.N.D.Y haven’t worked together on a collaborative single since they released ‘Donut’ last year, but the guys have somehow found time amidst their global touring schedules to put ‘Home’ together. In honor of this release, Booka Shade will be playing their first ever DJ show in Berlin at Weekend this Saturday, December 10th, so if you’re in the area, head over to Booka Shade’s Facebook to enter to win spots on their VIP guestlist!

Zombie Disco Squad Mix, Oliver $, Sacha Robotti, Jet Project

12 14 2010

blog brothers you can call me pelski are hosting one hell of a party, with one hell of a line up… on the other side of the world.. dammit! (London) this includes Jesse Rose, Zombie Disco Squad, Oliver $ and jet project. in order to fully appreciate the build up to this epic event, Zombie Disco Squad have created a silky smooth one hour house mix that will not only boost your mood, but educate your ears.

Get Physical’s, Jet Project have been paving a path down the road of tech with a splash jungle vibe through their oya mix. very percussion driven, layered, flavoursome sound.

oliver $ has edited this piece of house into something i would describe as both uptempo and cheeky sounding (think it may be the trumpets)

BOOKA SHADE

10 26 2010

Booka Shade
I had the pleasure of being invited to the launch of Booka Shade’s North American tour in Montréal this last Wednesday at Club Soda. I was looking forward to the music but dreading the mosh-pit mentality of Montréal party folk as they tend to amass into quite the rowdy bunch but that’s the beauty of Booka Shade; the music is less of a head-bangers delight and more of a hip shaking sex beat.

The setup was simple with Walter stage left in control of a mixing board, some synths, and some software and Arno stage right beating a set of drum pads and cymbals. You could tell by their smiles and effortless movement that they love their jobs.
