Big room dudes Jokers of the Scene offer up a variety of remixes for a few of their tracks. Spanning the range from dreamy ambient to dark techno, there’s something in here for everyone.
This past Friday we had the whole Trouble & Bass crew take over CONTROL @ The Avalon, led by head honcho Luca Venezia aka Drop The Lime. If you missed this earlier this week like I did, Luca released a Winter Afterhours mixthats simply the cat’s meow. Packed with vintage styles of rock, electronic, blues, and reggae blended to create “house for the drive home.” Great for background music (when you wanna leave something on in your room, ya know) and definitely a cool change of pace for the Brooklyn badman.

Last month, we heard that The 2 Bears will be releasing their debut album on DFA records on the 30th of January, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. The highly anticipated release will feature some of my favorite tracks of last year including ‘Be Strong,’ ‘Bear Hug,’ and their newest single just released this week, ‘Work.’ The ‘Work’ EP is incredible. Not only is the original an embodiment of all that I love about The 2 Bears, but it also comes along with top-notch remixes from Toddla T, Oliver $, Supabeatz, and Franky Rizardo. Stream below and go grab the whole thang on iTunes now.
Upped by popular demand. Here are the official snippets of the debut EP by this enigmatic 20 years young, French Canadian producer from Montreal. A deep, deep vision quest through detroit techno, house, acid and the faint touch of garage and UKF. A solid 4 track 12" coming in November 2010 with some heavyweight remixes still tbc for the digital release in December.
This producer seems to go up in our estimations with every release, this time making a direct derivé between the shadows of Detroit House and New York Garage to really cut loose in beautiful style. From the hyper-jittery garage flex of the title track the pace is dropped and the groove ramped with the Actress-style Detroit shimmer of 'Face Up (To Your Sensibilities)', squashing a fat square bassline under psyched-tae-f**k disco-soul vocals. Over on the flip the vibe switches gear again with a skippin' Todd Edwards bustle ruffed-up with the kinda scuffed samples and arrangement you'd expect from a Rick Wilhite track, while 'Cake, Biscuits and How's Yer Father' tips out on a seductively swirling garage lean with hints of Zomby and Blue Daisy. Don't miss out on this, it's an absolute winner for anyone with their head in the future garage/house clouds. Highly Recommended. [via Boomkat]
