For their 14th studio album, Tomorrow’s World, Erasure teamed up with Frankmusik to update their sound for a more dance oriented sound. Several standout tracks are on the album, but my favorite is “A Whole Lotta Love Run Riot”.

Here in Beastonia, we love getting slain by good tunes. So goes the case with Natalia Kills' Mirrors, and now the equally dark and daring remix from Frankmusik. Oh, this is murdering my mind in all the right ways.
Couple of pieces of info you should probably make yourselves familiar with...
The video for Mirrors will be unveiled on Thursday, and was co-directed by Ms. Kills herself (watch the preview here). She's recently wrapped up tours with Robyn and Kelis...what! Natalia's debut album, Perfectionist, will be out in March 2011 via Cherrytree/Interscope, and she will be featured on a Frankmusik track on the duder's forthcoming album.

Dramas, back stories and intrigue, ooh la la! Well, kind of... Here's the deal: you might immediately recognize this song, either via the title or through listening, because Sky Ferreira's Wish I Stayed, is in actuality, an Ellie Goulding song. So wait, how does that enter into our world as such today? Let's read on, mmmkay?
Ms. Goulding wrote and recorded Wish I Stayed, upon whence Frankmusik asked Ms. Ferreira to record it. Sky changed up the structure of the song, which prompted Ellie to block the release, furthering on to change the way SHE sang it (in order to be like Sky's version), and that's it in a nutshell. Really old drama. Really great cover, demo, original, whatever you want to call it.
It should also be noted that there will be a Frankmusik and Sky collaboration on her new album. No more drama, hey Mary J, hey.

Computer Club comes out swing with this mad jam that features a funky vibe and vocals by Frankmusik. BTW: You may want to turn this one down if your at work, just an FYI.
Computer Club – Losing Streak (ft. Frankmusik)
Let this post serve as an extra dose of kindling to a fire that is already torching the blogosphere. A few days ago, we got wind of Computer Club and Frankmusik‘s collaborative project, in which they’ve combined powers to pump out Losing Streak, a thumping bumping ride of a wildly rad time.
Both boys are known for their incredibly popular remixes of today’s top artists…think: Lady Gaga, Pet Shop Boys, Crystal Castles and Ladytron. So it only makes sense that the two electro-pop mavericks joined forces for a track with a chorus that is guaranteed to be hummed by every 12 year old much sooner than later…regardless of the mega-NSFW lyrical content.
Cheers lads…you hit a losing streak, but there’s nothing but a real winner here. Computer Club’s Nerd Secrets EP will be available later this month, but in the meantime, you can buy the single on Beatport now.

The last time METERHEAD sent material this way we were just getting into the swing of summer so this latest package has been received with the glee of a coffee addict who’s been without its joyous flavour for three months. It’s not as if the duo from Los Angeles have been slacking – if you’ve read these pages you would have known that other projects have been keeping them busy.
Among the three remixes is a melancholy version of ACID GIRLS and FRANKMUSIK’s summer anthem. METERHEAD appropriately muted the bright colours of the original with something a bit dark and brooding which is suitable for the loss of daylight in these northern parts.

They also take on WALE and LADY GAGA’s club tune, keeping the energy high but manipulate it for those who would shy far away from that kind of fodder. You might remember Wale from his version of D.A.N.C.E. which incidentally was chosen by JUSTICE as the best (out of the hundreds) of bootlegs they heard.

If I might dare say, none of these tunes would distinctly fall into any of METERHEAD’s previous patterns of production. There’s some familiarity with their work for THE BLACK LIPS, however. It’s partially due to the undertones of electro and grinding synth combined with the hip hop influence from GZA.
