Fool’s Gold Radio – January 2012 Mix
01 16 2012

Toronto duo Jokers of the Scene are set to release the ‘JOT5′ EP on A-Traks budding label Fools Gold on the 17th of this month.
Whether it be boring out an 8 minute acid-monster or re-constructing Salems “Asia” (voted #19 in NME’s ‘Best 50 Remixes of 2011) the two jokers, Linus Booth and Chris Macintyre are skilled producers at the very least.
The sneak peak off the release is “Black Mountie”, a lounge-room syphon and warehouse bruiser, moving from each like a long distance traveller – from the glaciers to the volcanic pits.

A week after the release (17/1), JOT5 RMXD drops with cultivations from a vast range of characters steering from Daniel Avery (aka Stopmakingme), Shadow Dancer (BNR), Hrdvsion (Wagon Repair), Savile & Olin, Cosmic Kids (Throne Of Blood), Gingy & Bordello (Turbo) and Babe Rainbow (Warp).
Be prepared!

Don’t know what trap-house-trance is? Do know who Flosstradamus are? Well not a bad trade off for the freebie “Total Recall” from the Fools Gold-ers.
Think Ukrainian hard-style with some Japanense flow, a part electro-breaks, part ambient shakedown… this is everything you’d hope for and more and its free!

Let me see your footwork, footwork, footwork, footwork, footwork, footwork, footwork, footwork, juke, juke, juke, juke, juke, juke, juke, juke, footwork, footwork, footwork, footwork, footwork, footwork, footwork, footwork, juke, juke, juke, juke, juke, juke, juke, juke. And so on.
Be on the look out for Flosstradamus’ new EP entitled Jubilation, forthcoming on Fool’s Gold.

Con ustedes el video de “Wild Window” último sencillo de Fool’s Gold. Como les había mencionado esta rola es parte de su nueva producción Leave No Trace que sale mañana.
Last month, the homegirl MNDR dropped onto the raddest radio show in the game, Belly of the Beast (Thursdays 8pm ET), on East Village Radio. She hinted that her single, Cut Me Out, was officially remixed by an NYC radass, and here we present you with the full on facts. It's Kingdom. And it's ah so ah good. Also... news of his new single today makes me swoon like a sweltering beast. Holy!
Kingdom, a [dance] producer renowned for his devotion to R&B, has teamed up with Naomi Allen for his next single. Allen makes up one quarter of Electrik Red, the criminally underrated US girl group whose debut album, 2009′s Dream-governed How to Be a Lady, Vol. 1, represents one of the great modern R&B full-lengths. Her and Kingdom’s collaboration is titled Take Me, and is due for release on Fool’s Gold, this coming Tuesday, July 26. On the B-side, you’ll find If You Buck, a “dreamlike crunk instrumental” built around harps and finger snaps. (via)

So much ear love right now.

El próximo 16 de Agosto saldrá la nueva producción de Fool’s Gold Leave No Trace, ya escuchamos “Street Clothes” y ahora la banda de Los Angeles nos regala “Wild Window”.
2009 seemed to be the year for Fool’s Gold, with the rise of the Los Angeles based collective, and the label (no relation) fronted by DJ A-Trak. The former’s affection for Afro-pop, audible tropical landscapes, multi-instrumentalism and the Hebrew language was displayed on their debut eponymous LP with songs as afrocentric as “Sunrise Hotel.” The band has recently announced that they will be putting out their sophomore effort, Leave No Trace, in the summer, and we have our first taste of the album with the brass heavy “Street Clothes.”
