What’s up my fellow dirty dancers, I hope your weekend is treating you as well as it is treating me. This has been a great week in music, whether your in Miami or not (and if you are, I want you to know I hate you a little bit). Anyways, I was very honored when FuzZ, Avedon and Zedex all decided to contribute to this weeks dirt! From complex IDM to French House, the three artists certainly differ in their sound, but not their unmistakable talent. With a wide range of songs to choose from on this weeks dirt, there is certainly something for all of you. So without further ado, myself, Fuzz, Avedon and Zedex present this week’s dirt after the jump!
*Check out the exclusive tracks from Fuzz, Zedex & St. Andrew!
A fire remix by Metamimetic‘s Zedex. This track has everything; a good groove, a funky feel and synth lines so massive they are guaranteed to take you on an exquisite psychedelic journey. These kids are the ones to watch in 2011!
FuzZ was signed to N.A.S.A. label Spectrophonic Sound last year and he just dropped this little gem earlier this month on his Bandcamp. It’s the first of several releases scheduled for 2011, including anticipated collaborations with members of The Pack and a few experimental solo releases.
St. Andrew is flying under the radar right now, but soon that’ll all be over. Repping Iowa and Los Angeles, Andrew has been making magical music for a few years now. I would normally spend these next few sentences talking him up, but it’s completely pointless when the music speaks for itself. Prepare yourselves, and keep an eye out this summer for Andrew’s new label, Rabbit Recordings.
Everything this guy turns out is fire. Lützenkirchen has given us a haunting track that is so ill its slightly frightening. Dread Phrase is a dark one; with an infectious bass line and intricate percussion. This track will make you wish you were in a German dark underground bassment rave…perfect!
This track is a hard hitter from Mr. Tim Berg aka Avicii. I think we all know well too much about this 21 year old prodigy, his engineering is unbelievable.
This guy has been on my radar for a while. I first heard a few of his tracks on the Laidback Luke forum and I could tell there were gonna be some bangers coming from his direction. This is one of his newest originals and it’s already got support from Chuckie and Joachim Garraud just to name a few. This one bumps.
Night Slugs have been blowing up as of late, garnering attention from Rinse.FM, XLR8R and Pitchfork for damn good reason. Based in the UK, these dudes are on some new shit, expanding minds and stretching genres. Be sure to check out all the artists on this label, as they’ve all been inspiring me lately. Shouts to Gavin and Andrew for the introduction.
Yesterday Siriusmo put out a small release on Monkeytown Records, and guess what? It’s amazing. No surprises there, Siriusmo has been one of my favorite producers for years now. Check out the whole release if you get a chance, it’s white hot.
• Bart B More & Harvard Bass – Listen To This (Jan Driver Dub) [Beatport]
We all know and love Bart B More, and his new track with Harvard Bass is being played all over. Here’s Jan Driver’s rendition of it and it’s pretty heavy as you might expect. I’m expecting a lot more from Driver, one of Alex Ridha’s newest recruits on Boysnoize Records.
• Mr. Fogg- Answerphone (Raffertie Remix) [Purchase]
Raffertie is an innovator. Recently starting his own record label, appropriately called, Super Recordings, he has been consistently changing the game with his futuristic genre crossing dance-noise. His newest remix of Mr. Fogg, which dropped on March 21st, is sure to leave you amazed/confused in the best way.
This guy is being slept on and it’s a damn shame! He just dropped his first full-length entitled Trademark Ribbons of Goldlast year, and it’s a monster. As far as comparisons go, Mr. Oizo and Siriusmo come to mind, although VHS Head is really doing his own thing. Peep the album, you won’t regret it.
• The Japanese Popstars – Song For Lisa (Benny Benassi Remix) [Beatport]
Benassi’s newest release gives me hope that this guy can still put out fresh shit. This one goes in a completely new direction but maintains that Benassi feel. Love the vocals on this track, props to The Japanese Popstars for a beautiful soundscape.
The man, myth, and legend, Le Castle Vania just dropped the 2nd installment of what is hoped to be a continued mix-tape series entitled “BulletProof Tiger.” It is loud, fast, yet groovy at the same time. No tune unfinished, no transition not meticulously cared for. Heavy metal accents with hints of disco has never sounded so good. I ran into Dylan at SXSW and i gotta say the dude is rad. He was also nice enough to send over his two most recent remixes for both DIM and Rrrump. Enjoi!

Digikid84's Supernature Love EP comes out at the end of the month, and a free mix of Are You Ready is below, along with one of the sexiest songs of last year, courtesy of the dude.
The Dada Life boys go at it with their hard hitting brand of electro once again with the release of their new single “Love Vibrations” (will be released on March 23rd courtesy of The Hours). The single comes backed with loads of banging remixes such as this one from D.I.M.
Before I present you to a incredible young talent, I’d like to thank – in my opinion one of the best music blogs around – You Can Call Me Pelski for their kind words in their 2009 round up. According to Pelski phase02 is the number one blog of 2009. That’s probably the biggest appreciation we’ve ever had. Respect Pelski! Thanks a bunch! We won’t let you down in 2010. Head over there and find out what else they have in their interesting, quite huge round up post.
Now it seems that thanks to that post on Pelski, a young talented music producer called “Graphics“ found his way to our dropbox. And “wow” am I glad he did. Not only because he’s name couldn’t be a better fit for phase02. I simply haven’t heard such creative remixes in a while. I tell you. This amazing 17-year-old ‘boy’ from Oxford is one to keep an eye on in 2010. And because we love Pelski so much, here’s how they described the music you’re about to hear: “A fine tipped make over from Oxfords underground star ‘Graphics’. A sentimental pulse of deep bass weight energy, scrawls over the rubbed out vocal blips.” Damn Iwish I could write like that. You guys have to do it with my Belgian English though.
