2012 has started at a pace for Bristol’s Easts Everything with a collaboration with Dirty Bird head honcho Claude VonStroke.

A producer we like to keep you up to date with, has also been busy finishing a ‘rework’ of Javeon McCarthy’s new single ‘Lost Time’. Please note we are only 8 days into the new year!!

It’s been about five years since the original release of “Who’s Afraid of Detroit?“ and earlier this week Dirtybird godfather Claude VonStroke deemed it time for a reissue. Not in the form of a proper release, but rather a freebie remix by Dirtybird newcomers MunniBrothers. For my money, it still doesn’t get better than Stanton Warriors‘ refix, but the MunniBrothers do a nice job of making it their own, even if their changes were subtle.

We’ve been big fans of Italian-born, London-based House producer, Solo, for a while now. Since his original production, ‘Congaloid,’ was picked up by Dirtybird labelhead, Claude VonStroke, the man has only gotten better and better, and this Halloween, he’ll be releasing his new EP, Pumpernickel, on the Great Stuff imprint. Today, Solo was kind enough to put the EP up for stream on his Soundcloud as well as a fresh new October mix full of solid House tracks. Give a listen to the EP below and make sure to pick it up on Beatport on the 31st!

I tweeted this new Claude VonStroke mix yesterday, but given that 3 Days Lost in Ibiza has gone from “uncharted” to “my favorite mix of the year” overnight, I’m reposting here. I’ve been pretty keen on Claude’s sound over the past several years, from his affinity to Tech House to his label’s new interest in Booty Tech, I’ve been on the Dirtybird train the whole time. Although he’s gravitated to the aforementioned genres in the past, this new mix of his is nothing like any he’s done before. The closest I can think is his Essential Mix from 2007, but even the vibe in that one strays a bit near the end. Reference his explanation, which is perfect, as this mix literally feels like an audible journey, and stream or download below.

Artist explanation:
This mix speaks for itself. It is inspired by one of those trips where I found myself lost in the middle of nowhere and ended up staying positive and having a three day (extremely fun) misadventure around the island. This mix is a departure from what I normally do. I purposefully have no giant “bang you over the head tracks,” it is much more of a long, interesting flow. You can hear the ups and downs of a 3 day trip throughout a mysterious island in Spain.
