One of my favorite tracks from the past few months has been the remix Gang Colours did for Lucky Paul (drummer for Chilly Gonzalez). Who is Gang Colours and who is Lucky Paul you’re wondering? The easy explanation is they are both artists doing a sort of poppy experimental electronic music in the vain of Mount Kimbie or some other P4k approved “post-dubstep” artist. For a more in-depth explanation you can check their respective Facebook/ Myspace pages as they’re both releasing EPs this month… Or just check out the tunes we got.

Back again with another glistening Waves for all you beach sluts and wave whores alike.  The weather outside is sun-kissed and teetering around 75, pretty good for early spring in Socal.  So grab your ghetto blaster, head down to ze beach, and play this 14-song flowing ‘Tropicool’ theme as you get baked with the sand beneath your toes. This installment actually doubles as baby making music, so if the test comes up positive, don’t say i didn’t warn you!

Like the picture eh? Pervert, listen to some music. I loved his remix of Shinichi Osawa, well he did it again, Robotaki‘s remix of Chilly Gonzales You Can Dance. Loving the sound, I think I’ve got a new favorite remixer. Second is the Johnny Lawson remix of Mike Posner which was running stale in my inbox for a day before I came across it. Great remix, it’s about time I posted something more upbeat right? And lastly, the Laubfrosch remix of Kinema My Beautiful Machines. What?! Slow again?! Whatever.

After first gaining notice for his immaculate remix of Kavinsky’s ‘Nightcall’, Robotaki has continued to gain momentum with his unique, percussion heavy, electro style. Robotaki brings the funk and the girth, making music which can be ground out in da club or enjoyed in the company of friends.

Junip are a Swedish Gothenburg-based rock band featuring José González, most known for his highly acclaimed solo work. They released the Black Refuge EP at the end of 2005, and after a five year hiatus, finally have their new album “Fields” to be released on September 14th of this year. There was also a free EP released online titled “Rope and Summit”, featuring four tracks.

And speaking of Gonzalez’s, Chilly Gonzales’ new album “Ivory Tower” is out and the Erol Alkan rework of ‘Never Stop’ is very cool indeed.

Chilly Gonzales gives us a fresh new mixtape, “Pianist Envy” is made up of piano remixes of several hip hop and dance favorites, including tracks by Beyonce and Daft Punk! This first-ever “piano mixtape” offers a unique and masterful blend of Chilly’s piano and orchestral sounds with hip hop beats and electro. Among the artists featured on the mixtape we find 50 Cent, Daft Punk, Busta Rhymes, Claude Von Stroke, Clipse and Kelly Clarkson.
