Arcade Fire just released an amazing interactive video for the best song off their latest album, The Suburbs. We can’y embed the interactive version, so catch the “traditional” version of the “Sprawl II” video below, then head over here to watch the interactive version.
Folk rock mainstay Neil Young has been hosting benefits for California’s Bridge School for children with special needs for 25 years now, always curating an impressive lineup of musicians from indie rock up-and-comers to jam-band paragons. This year, Arcade Fire brought their talents to the festival, and were joined by Young himself to perform a big-band rendition of Young’s 1969 song “Helpless.” Young trades off vocals with the Arcade Fire’s Win Butler as the band help to augment the song’s usually-sparse instrumentals. Check it out.
Cult discopopstar Sophie Ellis-Bextor has dusted off her rock-band-fronting persona for an unpredictable Arcade Fire cover, in the good name of charity. Recorded for a compilation album in aid of Samaritans, the cover is like a throwback to her theaudience days. Her version traded the quite cacophonous original for a more straightforward alt-rock arrangement. Of course, with this being Sophie, she couldn’t help but sneakily adding some synths at the end of the track. I have to say that I find her rendition really pleasant and tastefully done. Sophie has strongly hinted that her next album will be a departure from her usual sad disco flair, and if this is an implication of the change she’s got in mind, I can’t wait to hear more! Memo: more stuff like “Hello Hello” would be great.
As it’s for a good cause, I highly recommend purchasing it if you like what you hear.

I’m eating a chocolate chip muffin, my creativity of post titles have kind of gone bust two years ago. Starting off with another Christian Strobe remix, this time of Arcade FireNo Cars Go! Great remix of a great song, it adds a nice spin to the original! And that’s coming from someone who didn’t even like Neon Bible. Second is the HLM remix of Ellie GouldingLights. I really can’t get enough of Ellie Goulding. And lastly, the Justin Faust remix of Fabian. Enjoy!
