Here’s a bit of a rushed mix I did for THE SHAKE, a weekly radio show LOTEK and I do every Friday night on KICK FM. Lotek and I are both out of town this week, hence the mix. It starts off with a bunch of robotdisco jams and gets into some house-flavoured breaks and ends with nu disco and tech house.

毫無疑問，「King Of Nu-Skool Breaks」這個稱號是無數電子樂迷對於Adam Freeland最熟悉的頭銜，畢竟由他在1996年主理的DJ-Mix專輯「Coastal Breaks」以及與Tayo、Rennie Pilgrim共同發起的Friction這個Club Night，都被公認為Nu-Skool Breaks體系觸發的重要起源，幾年下來為Planet Funk、Fluke、Orbital、Pressure Drop、Nirvana、The White Stripes、The Dorrs、Spinerette等所炮製的Remix版本也都大獲好評，甚至當年Sasha、Carl Cox、BT等跳舞界巨星也都不諱言是在Adam的影響下大舉涉獵Nu-Breaks體系。同時他那奠基於Brighton的自家品牌Marine Parade(曾被Muzik Magazine Awards提名為「年度最佳獨立廠牌」)，更是無庸置疑的Nu-Skool Breaks重鎮。
另一方面，Adam的DJ-Mix功架亦是名聞遐邇。最早他在自家廠牌Marine Parade發表的兩張DJ-Mix專輯「Tectonics」與「On Tour」，已讓人體驗到一種以完美低音曲線為主軸的深遂Nu-Breaks美學，彷彿就是活生生的滿分DJ-Mixing典範般! 然而之後透過由他主理的「Essential Mix」到前些時候那張將Nu-Breaks、Indie-Electro、Shoegazer、Post-Punk、Minimal Techno共治一爐的「GU32﹕Mexico City」，所呈現的是一種超越Nu-Breaks範疇、全然破格而令人大為折服的DJ-Mix思維，同時還隱含著搖滾基因作祟。

Juice Aleem is known for sometimes being the frontman for New Flesh and Gamma. You might’ve also heard him on tracks by Coldcut, Hextstatic, Evil Nine and Adam Freeland amongst many, many others.
