A QUICK CHAT WITH LIFELIKE
05 19 2010

whoops, little late on this one..
So with very little time in the run up to Creamfields our friend and lover Moonchild (disco-bro, did some mixes and that track ‘girl’, notably funky) had a phoner with over-all french producer dude-person Lifelike (just pretend this was 4 weeks ago).
after the jump.
Moonchild vs Lifelike
A weeks ago i had the pleasure of speaking to Lifelike right before he began touring all around Europe again. I’m surprised at how down to earth and chill Laurent Ash was throughout the 45-minute phone call. We spoke about baguettes among other, more important, things. Here are the highlights of this conversation.
Last year was the first time that Australia welcomed Lifelike on its soil. The artist claimed that he really enjoyed it here, describing the Australian scene to be a lot more relaxed and calm compared to Europe. (Which surprised me to be honest, you Australians are party monsters.) A year later, he comes back to us eagerly as the only Disco/French house act to be headlining Creamfields alongside The Bloody Beetroots, Steve Angello and MSTRKRFT. Fear not, if you can’t make it to Creamfields, he will also be doing a few sideshows around Australia, which you can scope on his myspace.
When asked what current artists inspire him, Lifelike said he was really digging the sounds of In Flagranti, The XX and even what The Bloody Beetroots have been doing recently with their new DC77 live act. Lifelike will also be trying out something different for this tour, adding a brand new LIVE aspect to his show. I was told to expect hearing a lot more Lifelike prods.
Finally, Lifelike shed some light on his new forthcoming release coming out on his own label “Computer Science” in May/June. The release will include 2 brand new original Lifelike tracks “Silicon Valley” and “Love Emulator” and will only be available digitally. Looks like vinyl collectors are gonna miss out on this one!
Moonchild.
Rad, only confirmed the overall bro status of lifelike!
