Tonight was a landmark show for So You Think You Can Dance because of what transpired when Alex Wong, a trained ballet dance from Vancouver, British Columbia did with a Napoleon and Tabitha D’umo hip hop routine which saw him dancing with all star Stephen “Twitch” Boss. It was nothing short of spectacular, you could feel the energy from the start it and never let up. This was pure magic and the track they danced to was, “Outta Your Mind” by Lil Jon featuring LMFAO.
the nicer then nice Pete from Hey Champ sent out their clubbier remix of Erasure vocalist Andy Bell and his track ‘Call On Me’ as a free download and share.
Not to be mistaken with Blondies ‘Call Me‘ or A-Ha’s ‘Take Me On‘ (video links) you could forgive a listener to pull vocal similarities to Calvin ‘big scot’ Harris or Damon of the Gorillaz.
The mix itself pulls and tugs popular strings to make this both catchy as hell without turning it into a cheesefest of sorts.
I'll admit, I kind of lost interest in the iamamiwhoami hoopla, but this is one of the last videos of the ~mystery~, and I must admit, I'm really into this one, even though we all know it's Jonna Lee.
So let me set the scence, the first person to show up to the recording studio is Michael Mcdonald, then next through the door is Toto (you know the super group from the 80′s) and the last group through the door is Daft Punk. What does this all mean, well it means if that really did take place, I imagine the end result would sound very similar to Grum’s new release, “Through The Night”.
Grum lifts a sample from Toto’s single “We Can Make It Tonight“and pitches the vocals down to Michael Mcdonald land and then infuses enough 80′s energy to make one want to see another episode of Miama Vice and tops it off Daft Punk style. Listen and you’ll see what i’m talking about.
